Best Value in GR Area
Such a fun course to play. Seems straightforward but the greens present just enough complexity to keep you honest. Was in awesome shape, greens rolling around a 9, had some casual water after a weekend of 8" of water. Can't recommend this course enough. Staff is so friendly, food at Otis' is incredible, and the golf is so great for the cost.
Nice Layout
Very nice course. Unfortunately, there were torrential rains the night before so lots of casual water. Crews were working hard to remedy the water issues. Course was still playable. Greens were in good condition. Got a good rate as I booked and paid on-line. Had lunch in the clubhouse overlooking the lake. Good service and good food. Would definitely play again if in the area.
Well maintained resort course
Played around 11am saw a couple of other golfers out there but waiting to hit was never an issue. A good layout, nice tee boxes, fairways, and well maintained if not particularly fast greens. Can have some faster putts going downhill though and with all the Joel Goldstrand designed golf courses it has it's fair share of two or even 3 tiered greens. I liked the course overall and would recommend.

This is a beautiful golf course resort!!
So much to offer for families!!
This resort is on gorgeous Sugar Lake with its beautiful sand beach. Also offers a wonderful inground pool, tennis, basketball and pickle ball courts. Walking and biking trails in the beautiful North Woods of MN.
Wonderful lodge, condos, and adorable individual cabins down by the lake.
The golf course is well established and very playable.
Great pro shop with an amazing selection of popular name brand golf attire.
And.......the restaurant food is sooooo fabulous!!
Great selection and great portions for the price!
I would recommend Sugar Lake Lodge and Golf Course to everyone looking for an amazing getaway
or just a day of golf and dinner.
And... you are only 20 minutes from the great city of Grand Rapids with so much to offer.
Great shopping!!
Also, close to Pokegama Lake.
Take a chance you will not be disappointed!
Excellent Course
We had a beautiful day to enjoy a fun golf course. The course was in excellent shape and don't fall asleep after the front nine because the back nine has some interesting holes on the back nine. All-in-all a fun day on an excellent course.
Great Experience
The course was in great condition. Great layout. Visually appealing. And has enough difficulty to challenge all level of players. The staff was great and the 19th hole had everything. Food, drink, and a great view overlooking the lake.
WindyDay -Great course
We played the day after the course received 2" of rain and found it in excellent condition given the circumstances. We also played in gusts up to 30mph making the 18th hole extremely tough. My only criticism was the slow greens. Great course for the money.
Gem of the Northland
What a beautiful course. Challenging but fair for all golfers. Every hole was in perfect condition. A must play golf course, you won't believe the beautiful closing hole.
Good but slow
Got a great deal for 18 with a cart on Golfnow.com
The pace of play was okay, the only time we had to wait was when we made the turn. They had just let a group out off the back and we had a 10-15 minute wait.
UND Sioux Golf
Great Course, top 50 of 400 played. It SHOuld be a must play.
A great day on this hardwood course
This course is in great condition. The front nine is long and a bit boring; whereas the back is narrow and reclined. Overall, a great challenge.
Great time
Great condition fun resort type course. Made it through 18 holes in 3 hours
The course is nice
Expensive but the green n fairway well maintain. But there should be beverage caddie go around the course.
