Hidden Gem
This course offers something for every player, the back 9 is cut out of the woods and very scenic, the front 9 is more traditional giving the course a lot of variety of shots and difficulty. Course is well run and kept in really good condition year round, only issue is playing after a lot of rain it can get really soggy in low spots. Great course all around.
Very beautiful course in the fall. The front nine is more open, but the back nine was wonderful. My wife and I enjoyed the back 9 immensely.
We were able to start early for our t-ime. The mens t-boxes were in great shape. My wife was bothered by the condition of the womens t-boxes and no directions given about the changes in t-boxes from the score card to what the red t-boxes actually were. It was not until we finished the front nine that we got a corrected copy of the scorecard. Several of the holes required blind shots that made playing them accurately more difficult. There were no rakes in the bunkers at this time of the year and it was evident that the deer also liked the sand trapsl The front nine was a little rough in places. The greens were in great condition and were challenging for putting.
Over all though this was a wonderful course and I would play it again.
Great discount and day was perfect weather
Their courses has so much bump, bumpy and it was our first time and we think it is nice play there
Very simple to play and open more chance to get birdie
Great time and got few pars if it were not for hot day
Great traditonal course
Good course for the money. Tradional type course with plenty of areas for trouble. Need to hit it straight.
This course was backed up.
Pace of play was very slow. They had an event on the course for 50 year olds and older. We played 14 holes in 4 hours then drove back to the clubhouse.
Back nine was a great track and in very good condition.
The front nine needs to have some of the undulation in the fairways dealt with. We thought the greens were in very good condition especially with the spring weather that we had earlier experienced. With a little love and care this course could be a real gem.
Bring the straight stick to this gem
I am always thrilled to play Cuyuna Golf club in Deerwood, MN. This course proves that it need not be lengthy to be a challenge. It calls for precision off the tee and steady nerves on the fast undulating greens. Despite a long Minnesota winter, the greens were rolling between 11 and 12 . I always want to go back again to play it because, there are many holes that can be played differently. Easily the best course in the immediate area. Bring bug spray for the deer flies. Have fun!!!
Eh experience
Course is 2 distinctly different 9's. Front is wide open. Back requires more well placed shots. I enjoyed the back 9 more. Rolling hills make some shots challenging. Greens slow but not choppy or dead in spots. Played on a holiday weekend so that probably explained the pace, but the front 9 was ungodly slow. I skipped 5 holes and played the back without any delay.
