Miserably slow
3+ hours for 9 holes. 4 different groups waiting on multiple tee boxes.
HIDDEN GEM
We played this course because it was close to our AirBNB and we could play before an evening event. I lucked out with a great Hot Deal. The facility itself is tired but charming. An old brick building, lots of brick walkways, big door and screen door to get into an"open concept" Pro Shop, grill, snack bar. Bathrooms were pretty disgusting. My husband agreed. Starter/outdoor staff, very friendly. The course looks simple, plays pretty tough and in fairly good shape for a public course in early June. Greens were fast and undulating. We would definitely play this course again.
Great day for golf
This is an iconic Donald Ross course. Still early in the season and there's a lot of work that needs to be done. But all in all, still playable and challenging.
Poor condition
A local little course, but avoid it for the next month. There are wet courses, then there is so severely wet that no carts are allowed (even carrots only) and walking has your shoes fully soaked in the flirts hole. Avoid this course until July.
Love a Ross design
Spring conditions, fairways need some work, greens were fast but still spring condition. OK for $35 senior rate.
Fractured Gem
I first played Rackham I the early 90's and it was a great track. Moved Away in 2005 and came back in 2015. My first round back I was disappointed. Didn't return till this week. Get the Caterpillars out and Start all over. Fairways are dead or headed that way. Hard pan every where. Only good thing is the greens are in great shape.
Starter was nice but never approached the # 1 tee. Was busy talking to fellow employee instead of monitoring the box.
The restrooms are like something out of a prison movie. Enough said. wont ever be back. Almost a sin what was done to this Donald Ross Gem.
Rackham Golf
Nice place to golf except the ladies room was disgustingly dirty, trash over flowing and no TO.
Love Rackham
A timeless classic. Donald Ross Greens are large and lots of twists and turns
Great location and course in great shape
Bring your driver as it is a long course, especially
The back 9
Rackham Golf
It was a pleasant day of golf and for the spring, the course was in great shape!!!
Tee times mean get in line but great course for the price.
Was on a short trip to the Detroit area and was able to get a tee time on Easter, upon checking in 15 minutes prior was told to queue up for the first tee, spent the front nine backed up by two groups ahead of us with the following group waiting on us. Aside from this the course was in pretty good shape, greens are big and were running fast, wish they had poker chips to add to my collection but overall enjoyed the course and had a great time.
Don't be fooled by reviews like this. There nothing Excellent about Rackham.
