Lake Erie Metropark Golf Course

About
Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown sits along the shoreline of its namesake lake. The location is a popular bird-watching spot with more than 300 species recorded. Golfers might catch a glimpse of a bald eagle and broad-wing hawk sightings are almost definite since the area is one of the best hawk-watching sites in North America. The golf course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and is routed through natural wetlands and forests. Towering trees line the fairways and water comes into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course is a manageable 6,472 yards from the back tees. Lake Erie Metropark's challenges are mild enough for high handicappers but there are still some interesting holes that will keep the avid golfer entertained.

Nice golf course
The course was in very good condition from tee to green. Highly recommended. The staff was very friendly. Only real complaint is that a slow foursome kept us waiting on almost every hole and there were no marshals to ensure they kept pace.
Was nice day on decent course
Got a great deal on a round. Paired up with a really good guy. A true gentleman. Was a good day and enjoyed the course. Course makes you use the clubs in your bag not just a few.
Staff is inconsiderate and rude
I drove 40 minutes for my 9 holes single golfer tee time, by the time I get here they told me you can’t play until fog dies down. I asked nicely why they didn’t call or contact me to tell me about the delay because Golf-now told me they should have called me about the delay. I told them that and they barely even got a sorry out and just walked away. Most places are considerate enough to give vouchers or something. Luckily golf now gave me a refund and I am grateful to them.
This was my second time scheduling tee time. First time I had scheduled for 18 holes but only got through 9 because of how slow and backed up it was on a Tuesday morning. That’s why I came back to play the back 9 but won’t be coming back here again.
Poor course
For the second time the cart broke down and I had to wait for "Rescue" cart to arrive. The course was very wet with standing water in the bunkers. The bugs were thick in several parts of the course. Grass adjacent to the fairway was so thick I lost several balls. The only good part was the wildlife viewing...
Off the beaten path
I hate getting to this golf course, it's a lot of single lane traffic, but once there is nice. Allow yourself a little extra time, the Huron exit by hungry Howie's is the closest.
Fun course…Pace of play though…
Overall fun course for the price, but the pace of play is always terrible when I play here. If you got 5 hours to spare this is where you want to be. Other than that it’s a decent course for the price IMO
Needs help
First off, the range is closed every Tuesday, found that out after I arrived early to hit a bucket and warm up. We were grouped with another twosome which is usually no bid deal. It there were multiple twosomes playing on the course at the same time. The tee boxes were in horrible shape, looked like no movement of tees for days and they were just beat up. Greens were not in terrible shape but the holes themselves were all damaged and roughed up. Looks like the hole locations had not been moved in a few days as well. All the lips were damaged, bent in, or broken down.
