Monday at Centerton
Other than starting our round a little late, we had a good round. Some really wet zones from early watering got to be a little annoying. People not fixing their ball marks on the greens was another issue. Most were in good shape but a few had someone not being kind to the surface.
Being Monday, the restaurant probably wasn’t open so wanting more we went elsewhere for lunch.
Wide Open Fariways
A lot of room on this course off the tees. Most fairways are wide and straight. if you tend to spray the ball off the tee with driver this course is for you. If you are looking for a shotmaker's course, then not so much. A special thanks to the family that allowed us to play through. It was greatly appreciated.
Nice track & Value
Centerton is a nice track. Green are very good (if a little slow when I played). Some Fairways can be spotty at times but acceptable. Very good value for the money. Staff was great. All in all, a really nice course for the money.
Greens Good
Greens are in great shape. Fairways need work but move your ball to a playable location and your fine.
Great course with reasonable cost
I always enjoy this course. The course is a bit rough, but, good enough for practice and experience.
slow but good
Because the course is in such good shape and the price is so affordable I think everyone wants to play there which makes it very crowded even on weekdays. But its the best game in town for the price
Great Shape
Centerton is almost always in great shape, the greens were very firm and fairways were pretty hard as were the tee boxes. Which was good and bad because you got a lot of role off the tee but then the second shot was hard because it was hard to make a divot
Great
Its a great course at a great price, we were behing a very slow 4some that on 17 he fished for balls in the water before going to the green and putting. They held us up all day and the couse was wide off for 4 or 5 holes in front of them. But other then that its a Great course well maintained at a very reasonable price
Sloth pace
Started round 30 minutes late because a group booked on the wrong day and they still let them play even though it was packed. Constantly waiting 10+ minutes at each hole for a 5+ hour round. Course condition was ok for the price. Expect leaves on the greens, tee boxes with zero grass, busted hole signage, bone dry conditions. Biggest complaint is pace of play
Such a shame
I love playing this course the layout is great. Offers wide open fairways and challenging greens. Well taken care of and very fun to play. My major issue that makes this course almost unplayable is the pace of play. Everytime I play here it's incredibly slow. If it weren't for the turtles pacing this would absolutely be one of my favorite courses in South Jersey.
Rough Course
For $45 I feel like I overpaid. First time playing this course, nobody in sight except the 3 guys in the proshop. Range balls came in a plastic shopping bag, no directions other then grab a cart. No starter, no Bev cart, nothing. Tee boxes were ok at best, fairways were terrible, greens weren’t too bad but pretty long and needed some extra power. Cart paths were a little rough. Couldn’t complain about pace of play but it was Easter Sunday so didn’t expect to be slow. $20-$25 feels appropriate to pay for this course
Pack a lunch.
Teed off 20 minutes after our scheduled time. By the third, a par 3, there was a group on the green, one on the tee box, two groups waiting behind, and one coming off the green behind us. 5 1/2 hours for a round is pretty ridiculous. The greens were 70’s shag carpet so make sure you hit your putts with some power. If it’s not the middle of the week and $25 I’d definitely say pass.
It's a good value
It was a holiday, so play was about an hour slow.
Many sides of the fairways had no grass.
Still, for the price these days, it's an affordable round of golf.
I have not yet tried the pub after a round, but it's available.
No water for cleaning clubs or balls on course. Snack shack at 10 was not open. See first line. Saw cart girl twice in a 5 1/2 hour round.
Lot to improve upon, but won't stop me from coming.
