Although it's only an hour from New York City, the Garrison's secluded location nestled in the Hudson Highlands makes it feel much further. Perched 800 feet above the Hudson River, the 18-hole Garrison golf course offers panoramic views of the river and the surrounding mountains. As beautiful as the rolling hills are, they provide a challenging topography that will keep you from being distracted by the scenery. The rolling greens are flanked with bunkers and water. In addition to the uphill, downhill, and side hill lies, you can expect a few tough carries over deep ravines and stands of mature oaks along the fairways. The elevation changes are especially dramatic on the front nine while the back nine is a bit more open and forgiving, but you'll still need accuracy throughout the entire golf course.

Best In The Hudson Valley
Beautiful Golf Course and the best in the area. I learned how to play golf here and been playing here for almost 20 years. The owner gave this treasure away like a box of cookies for a tax write off. When he could of sold it to someone who loves the game. This place had so much potential and they gave up on it. The Golf Staff was great and our Pro was the best.
A Special Place
I learned how to play golf at the Garrison. Like many other golfers in the area, I am disappointed that this course is closing. I don't think there are many (if not any) courses open to the public in the tri-state area, with as good of an atmosphere as the one here. Despite not having the talents of a tour professional, everyone at the course (members, staff, fellow golfers) made me feel welcome.
It is a shame that this course is closing.
Beautiful Course
One of my favorites with spectacular views overlooking the Hudson and West Point. Very sorry to hear that it is closing down after this season.
I heard end of November the golf will be closing. Sad we can't play.
Challenging course
Garrison's course layout always makes you feel difficult. But for $52 on the weekend, the rounds were enjoyable enough.
Great course
Most beautiful course I have played! The views were great. Less than 4.5 hours for 18 holes. Beautiful fairways. Sad that this course is closing for good after this season
Play this beauty before it's gone
Highly recommend. The course was in super condition. Firm sloping fairways, greens and blind tees shots make it a challenge. Staff I met and dealt with were all very friendly and accommodating. Absolutely stunning views and old stone structures make this a visual gem. The only negative is the pace of play. The couple times I played this week had back ups on several holes and dragged along from time to time. There are no rangers on the course to speed up the slower lagging groups. Even the presence of someone would probably help.
Enjoy this beauty before it oses it's doors.
Not worth the money or time!!!
Was told the course is closing for good in November and looks like it. Greens had hundreds of divots and fairways and rough were horrible shape. Not worth playing.
Too bad it's the last year Open
Great course, unfortunately have learned that this is the last year open. Tragic waste of one of the more beautiful courses in the tri-state.
Fun course
Outstanding views of Hudson and surrounding mountains. Greens fast and didn’t hold some quality approach shots. Fairways in great shape. Course a little overgrown and narrow in places. Too bad it’s closing this year.
