Enjoyed the day!
Course is in great shape, greens are tough but fair, staff was very helpful. I’ll play there again.
Nice Coarse
Pretty good layout of coarse. We have had a wet summer so far. So there were a few wet places. Other than that it was alright.
This course is tricky but enjoyable. Greens are a blast.
Exceptionally Beautiful Golf Course
Silver lake golf course was an absolute pleasure to play. This golf course was very well manicured, the greens rolled fast and true. The layout was very challenging, and we thoroughly enjoyed our round of golf there.
Nice vacation course
The course was in good condition considering the dry summer we have had. The greens were large and in good condition. You could walk the course but it is rather long and the layout can be confusing. A map on the scorecard would be helpful. They do not have a driving range but there is a small putting green. Although the course and dining facilities are lake front, the lake is not visible from the golf course. The Golf Now deal of the day was a real benefit but otherwise I think the greens fees are overpriced for the course. There is quite a bit of carry for beginning golfers. We played on Labor Day and the play was extremely slow due to lots of beginner golfers. They were very informal in the pro shop and they did not have a starter or marshal on the course. There was a beverage cart which carried a small cooler of water. They had bathrooms on the course but no water. The staff and dining room with outdoor lakefront seating was very nice. It was an hour out of Buffalo and a nice vacation day of golf and dinner.
excellent adventure
an hour ride...but well worth the trip...a short track by today's standards ....makes up the less yardage with narrow fairways and undulating greens....a monster par 5 @ 600yds....an overall fun day....next time I'll bring the wife so as we can enjoy a day of golf followed by a excellent dinning experience on the lake..
Nice lake veiws
Veiws of the lake and the sounds of people having fun on the water made us feel like we were on a island getaway. The course was tight clean and Rest rooms are in good locations only thing no service like food or water even the soda mechines we're unpluged. On the holiday ? good thing we brought a few waters
Tough Greens
The greens are the best part of this course! Most have a variety of slopes and I don't think there is a straight putt on the course. Some pin placements could have been much better thought out as sides of slopes and right at the crest of hills doesn't make for a fun round.
The fairways for the most part were ok, the traps need work and the biggest problem is in navigating the course due to lack of a map or enough signage.
Still looking for the next hole
I realize that we had never played this course, but finding your way from one hole to the next was the biggest challenge. No cart signs to even lead you in the right direction and after the 9th, you were nowhere near the clubhouse. Kinda strange that the greens were in excellent shape, but the entire rest of the course and pro shop was a un-kept mess. As playing there for $25. was my idea, it was quite an embarrassing experience at that price.
Great views
Pace was a little slow. Layout was challenging for intermediate players. Good greens.
Great weekend for a group of 16
Recently spent a 4 day weekend with a group of 16 fellow Canadians at Silver Lake. Great set-up for a large group. Service was great as management bent over backwards to accomodate our group to ensure that we had a positive experience. A fun course to play more that once, challenging but fair for all levels of players. Greens were in great shape and consistent. Quality of food for our weekend package was excellent and accomodation suited our group perfectly. Hope to return again this season with a smaller group and certainly will be back next year. Worth the 2 1/2 hour drive from southern Ontario.
A Nice Day
My partner and I enjoyed our morning at Silver Lake. An excellent value. The staff was very friendly & helpful. Will go again.
Worth A Trip
If you haven't played here you need to try this course out. Not the longest course, but with trees and creeks you really need to be careful about club selection. Some sprucing up due to the start of the season but you can tell it is well cared for. The greens and grounds are beautiful. Nice view of the lake especially from up on the 14th green. Clubhouse looks nice but we didn't stop for food.
