RE: A PLEASURE
always a pleasure to play here ... even if it SNOWS on us while we play ... Nov 29th ... Course was in great shape .
Nice & Enjoyable! Recommended!
Wonderful experience with some of the best visuals (great views) you will find around. Fun, comfortable and challenging for all except beginners......Layout (w great variety of holes), seasonal conditions , nice partners, etc., makes for a very enjoyable day!
Finally!
Waited 20 years to finally golf West Point. Course was beautiful as were views and condition very good for late in the season. Carts need an upgrade and there should be some warning when booking an afternoon tee time that carts must be returned by 4pm? We paid for 18 but could only get in 11 because of this. GolfNow and this course should communicate this to paying customers.
Great mountain course
Always challenging, in great shape. Once the clubhouse is open, it will be an awesome course.
Challenging but so beautiful
It’s a mountain course and plays like one. Carved into a mountain it is spectacularly beautiful. It’s also a public course and that shows on the condition of the fairways and greens. But it’ss must play if you’re in the area. We played two days in a row and played much better the second day. How’s that for a blinding flash of the obvious.
Will be infinitely more enjoyable when the new clubhouse opens.
Awesome track
What a great course, lots of challenges and well maintained
Always challenging , lots of elevation changes, lots of water...
Water, narrow , hilly fairways... West point gives away very few strokes... nobody in front of me.... great round... excellent value for the money... I wish I lived closer...
Disappointed
Attempted to call course numerous times to determine course condition. There was no answer over a three hour period. We were disappointed to learn, upon arrival that the course was very wet and cart path only. We were also unable to reschedule our tee time as there were outings on the course during the next two days. Obviously, I am unable to rate the course. I was also unable to reach the pro shop after numerous calls earlier in the week, which is why I booked a tee time with Golf Now. It seems I've lost the cost of the booking fee with no opportunity to play at West Point Golf Course.
Future Gem
Once the new club house opens, the 4 stars will probably be a 5. The only issues were the amenities due to a temporary club house and maybe the outdated golf carts. I would definitely play here again
Solid course; spectacular views
Enjoyed the round at West Point. Played from the black back tees. They're currently undergoing construction to the clubhouse so you start on #5 and finish on #4. Course conditions were good except some gripes about the greens where people just didn't seem to do a good job of fixing ball marks. Probably fixed at least 3 or 4 on every hole. Greens were tough and fast otherwise though. Several had some crazy undulations.
As mentioned, cool sprawling layout and incredible views. In a month or so, the foliage shots have to be off the charts. You better hit a straight ball here though and not spray it off the tees. Several holes are very tight, #12 I think was like trying to hit down a tunnel.
Know that flat lies won't happen often as it seems many holes feel like you're on the side of a mountain. Doesn't take away from the enjoyment, but just be prepared for that.
New clubhouse looks amazing as it should because I heard they dumped millions into it. Look forward to going back and playing during the fall.
