OK little course
First they just had a big rain the night before so some of the problems on the course were from the rains. But the greens were not even and so when you would putt the ball would bounce off to one side or the other. No sand in the traps. If you have a hour or two to play, sure it is better than nothing.
I love it!
I am a member at the Willow Creek Golf Course in Boone, NC--and I love it. I recommend it to anyone who asks. It is affordable and the staff is great. I like to walk, and the course has just enough contour for a good workout. Also, it's a comfortable place for me to work on my game. I just pick a tee to fit my mood and give it a try, no pressure, no hype, just fun.
Challenging Par 3
signed up for 18 holes and realized 9 holes but we played twice and moved to the back tees on the second round. fun and challenging Par 3, long irons and hybrids used on a number of holes and water came into play multiple times. good undulations gave a mountain feel of a course and small greens required some accuracy. tee boxes were chewed up a bit and greens were very slow with some bad patches but for the price, a good value plus we were more focused on the tee shot.
Short but challenging
The staff is extremely great. The course was not crowded. It is excellent for the use of irons.
Fun mountain short course
A fun par three that has some exciting elevation changes. It is a really pretty course nestled in the Appalachian mountains. Tee boxes were a little chewed up when we played but that was my only complaint. The staff is relaxed and helpful and it is a great course for new golfers and veterans alike.
Best Par 3 Course I've played
I've played a fair amount of par 3 courses but none as fun as this. The holes are perfect length for wedges through 6 irons. Holes are challenging yet very accessible. Water is in play on a few holes. Greens were perfect and rolled true. Tee boxes were not cut low but didn't effect the ball of the tee. Staff was friendly and I would play this course again.
