STATELINE, Nev. -- Located on Lake Tahoe's vibrant South Shore, Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course makes for the Tahoe area's most memorable play as the only course that literally plays along the shores of Lake Tahoe. Located in the vicinity of South Lake Tahoe's casinos, it's resort golf at it's best.
The golf course was built in 1968 by George Fazio, who brought in Tom Fazio for his first job at the time (Tom has returned for renovations in later years as well). Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course has played host to a number of prestigious events such as the U.S. Senior Open, but these days is a regular host of the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship. While Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course's inland holes are all good, it's the closing stretch that steals the show here. Starting from the 14th hole, which plays from an elevated tee down towards the lake, all holes play alongside or within view of Lake Tahoe, including the 17th, which is right on the beachfront.
