Top five courses in St. Louis in 2014
1. Heritage of Hawk Ridge, Lake Saint Louis, Mo.
Despite being a nine-hole executive course west of St. Louis, Heritage of Hawk Ridge receives very high marks on Golf Advisor.
"Can golf 18 in about 2 hours," wrote MWeaver. "One of the nicest par-3 courses around. When I want to get out and play quickly, this is my go to course."
2. Belk Park Golf Course, Wood River, Ill.
Remduc1 called Belk Park "The best course in town for the price. The greens putted so true it felt like I was on a private club."
3. Lockhaven Golf Club, Godfrey, Ill.
An historic, once-private club, golfer justtryingagain was smitten by the nostalgia.
"To walk into the locker room at Lockhaven Golf Club was to step back in time," he wrote. "I have played over 60 golf courses and this one is easily in my top five."
The course closed at the end of 2014 however, and no plans to revive the course have been made at this time.
4. Far Oaks Golf Club, Caseyville, Ill.
Golfer gst600 brought a corporate group to this course and said it was a great success.
"The zoyia fairways are immaculate," he wrote. "They roll their greens and thus are very TRUE! Tee boxes are always in great shape. It's a great value. One of the best courses in the STL area."
5. Incline Village Golf Course, Foristill, Mo.
"With the back nine right of the lake it makes for a great view while chasing that little white ball around," wrote dpgxw7, a local female golfer.
