Jordan Spieth helps launch first Under Armour golf shoe line

Under Armour, Jordan Spieth launch new golf shoe line at TopGolf Austin

Under Armour can now officially dress a golfer from head-to-toe. The sports brand launched their first golf shoe line at Austin's TopGolf facility this week, while the eyes of the sport are on the Dell Match Play World Golf Championship at Austin Country Club.

Jordan Spieth -- an Under Armour athlete and former Texas Longhorn golfer, in town on a homecoming of sorts for the WGC -- stopped by the UA shoe line debut at TopGolf.

"It's probably the most involved I've been in any of the Under Armour products, given it was started from scratch and they wanted our input," Spieth said. "We're in these golf shoes, a lot of times, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m."

UA's staff long-bomber Gary Woodland was also on hand to confirm you can swing for the fences in these kicks. (You may recall, Woodland recently provided some valuable viral promotion of Under Armour's under garment line at the Honda Classic.)

Under Armour's debut shoe line features three styles. The UA Tempo Tour ($219.99 MSRP) and UA Drive One ($199.99 MSRP) are more athletic and performance based, while the UA Tempo Hybrid goes more for that casual and comfortable look and feel with little pods rather than soft spikes.

The first reaction is that they aren't getting too wild with the color scheme, preferring more classic white, brown and black. Compare that to Foot-Joy's recent Freestyle shoe, which looks like something out of a George Clinton music video, it's a definitive up-vote for neutral colors.

It's difficult to not notice the many airholes, subtly patterned, in these UA styles, but the shoes still promises maximum water resistance.
