The yearly Golf Advisor state best-of lists are compiled by analyzing the ratings and reviews submitted by members of our community throughout the year. We use our Golf Advisor Index logic that weights newer reviews and combine it with a course's weighted subcategory averages. Reviews from trusted and active reviewers are weighted heavier than inactive members.
Courses must offer public access and have received at least one review in 2018 to be eligible for this year's list.

This list is a complete joke. Not much more to say.
Seriously....Tobacco Road over any of the other top 20? I mean,...who gave you these ratings?
Tobacco Road is certainly "interesting"...."quirky" to say the least. When a course has to station rangers on the course, to point you in the right direction of where you are to aim your drive,...I mean really? That felt more like putt-putt on a large scale. I know those who play the course either love it or hate it. That alone should keep it out of the top 20. There are so many other high quality courses in NC. Where is Duke Washington Inn Course? It held an NCAA Championship in it's past. What about some of the courses down in the Myrtle Beach area? You need more mature raters...people who understand golf course design.
