The yearly Golf Advisor state best-of lists are compiled by analyzing the ratings and reviews submitted by members of our community throughout the year. We use our Golf Advisor Index logic that weights newer reviews and combine it with a course's weighted subcategory averages. Reviews from trusted and active reviewers are weighted heavier than inactive members.

Courses must offer public access and have received at least one review in 2018 to be eligible for this year's list.

After going to Myrtle Beach almost every year from 1989 to 2010 haven’t gone back ! Wondering what’s going on as far as golf and restaurants , bars . Noticed that many courses have closed and have no idea what the “go to “ courses are ? We used to go to NY Prime and a few other places .we could use a little help with golf and lodging. Any suggestions?

I am a member at Wyboo Golf Club in Manning, SC. Does this mean we are #16 in the State? I love this course and it is a Gem hidden in the country outside of Florence, SC and Columbia, SC. I just wanted to know the exact ranking according to Golf Advisor. Thank you and I enjoy reading your articles and reviews.
