Oak Hollow Golf Course

About
Oak Hollow Golf Course is one of two municipally owned golf courses in High Point, N.C. This Pete Dye design is the newer and more popular of the two. The layout features several Dye signatures including pot bunkers and railroad ties but it's the small, undulating greens that are the most recognizable Dye trademark. The golf course has an interesting mix of holes, including several risk-reward opportunities. It's a course that will make you think, rewarding strategy and accuracy over might. The signature hole is the par-4 sixth. This 420-yard hole wraps around a lake with an island tee at the tips that will test the brave. Oak Hollow's toughest hole, though, is the 437-yard 11th, also a par 4. You'll need a perfectly placed tee shot and then after you're met with a triple-tiered green that sits along the water's edge.

Decent Dye Job
The layout is challenging and features several elevation changes. Like most Pete Dye designs, it features tight landing areas, interesting approach angles, and crowned greens. The greens were surprisingly slow, but this may have been a result of having been recently aerated. There were also a few bare patches on the tee boxes, but this is a minor problem, easily solved. The staff are very friendly and the pace of play was excellent. We kept pace, and completed the 18 holes in just under 4 hours. If you are in the Piedmont Triad area, and looking to play 18 at a great price, Oak Hollow is a fine choice.
CRAZY
Crazy that they basically tell you that you have to play with other people, care nothing about pace of play I could've lapped the guys in front of me twice and played 36 holes. They made us/ forced us to play with another twosome. very annoying.
Beautiful views great value!
I have always loved this course. The fairways are currently bare and hard but the greens (aerified and dressed) are true and would be rolling great in about one week. If I lived closer I would play this Dye- design every week. This course is short but unforgiving for a spray hitter. Woods, water and trees make shot making a priority. The pace of play for the weekend was great as my group finished in under 4 hrs on a Saturday.
Not the courses fault
Course had been punched and they were extremely apologetic when we asked why we were not informed.
This is a GolfNow issue. You need to make this info available on your site.
People will not use your site if this happens to them as it has to me.
Very disappointing
They just punched the greens on Tuesday and did not notify any of the players of the conditions of the greens, Would not have made a tee time If I would’ve known very disappointing
Is the golf course is fault
The golf course did not inform GolfNow that the course has been punched if they did, it would be on their site so it’s the golf course‘s responsibility to inform everybody, including GolfNow and reduce the price golf courses fault
Tough course
Cold windy day didn't help with wind off the lake. True winter golf. 2nd time playing there. No real complaints as far as course conditions, greens, staff, driving range, etc. Actually, really good for the money for sure. EXCEPT, don't kid yourself and expect to go low. Very challenging, even from the whites. At times, many times, too long. Big elevation changes, long demanding drives at times, blind tee shots, par at times feels like a win. 13 hdcp was trying to break 100...and didn't.
Great day in December
Wow! Hadn't been there in over 6 months and wasn't disappointed. Outstanding greens and fairways. The tee boxes were a tad beat up but was able to accommodate none the less. Bermuda rough was treacherous. Make sure you hit the fairways. All in all, a great round. Can't wait to return.
Wonderful course!
I played the course when I was in sixth grade and it was not very nice. Two years later and it is one of the best golf courses in the Piedmont. Very unique layout, great views of the lake, staff is nice, and the best of all it is only $28 to play at 11 on a Sunday. It’s gotta be one of the best value courses in North Carolina. If you are around Greensboro you must check this course out!
