DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE
Scott King is a bully and does a horrible job managing this course. The greens are uneven. The holes are poorly collared, to the point I have seen better collars at the pound. The customer service is nonexistent except when Scott feels the need to bully members, guests, staff, and children. The kitchen is never open, and when it is, they are improperly stocked or staffed to accomodate simple requests. Overall this was a poor judgement call on my part, to even think of stepping foot in such a place of riggamaruck. I can find better greens at the beach miniature golf. Go elsewhere especially if you value your time and money.
Must Be Avoided
I had played Brandywine Bay a year or two ago. At that time, it was in pretty good condition. What a difference a year or two makes.
The Pro Shop staff was quite pleasant and friendly. We went to the driving range to find a field with a "hitting area" that was over grown with weeds. It hadn't been mowed in some time and was difficult to find any area where one could even hit balls from. That should have been our first clue.
I found the entire course to be in fair to poor condition. Most tee boxes were "OK" but the fairways were covered with weeds, hadn't been mowed in awhile and it was difficult to even define the fairway boundaries. The bunkers were mostly hard pan and not in good shape.
The greens had also not been mowed in awhile and were quite slow. Of greater concern were the bald spots and diseased turf on many of the greens, especially on the back nine. Several holes actually had grass growing all around the hole and had not been changed in a long time.
The basic course layout is interesting and even fun but the current management has let this course deteriorate into one that should be avoided at all cost. To ask for a $64.00 green fee at Brandywine Bay is ridiculous at best. Shame on us for playing it.
Our group enjoyed a cold beer at the 19th hole and all toasted the fact that we would NEVER return to this facility.
Good Round
Couse was cut very nicely. Greens Tee Boxes and fairways were more than decent. Really helped my round to play on a well kept course
Great value
Course is in great shape minus a couple of the greens, great value and pace of play.
Great course
Fun layout
Greens are very consistent
We will be back
Great halfway course between the coast and Raleigh
Ok
Only problem was wetness and cart paths only, but had 3 inches of rain day before we played
Good choice
Staff very friendly. Fairways excellent. Greens (minus one) above average. Many houses to hit if you're a hacker. Rapid pace of play very enjoyable.
Nice course for the money
Nice variety of holes, some very challenging.
Overall nice layout.
Could use a better green keeping
Some greens were longer than others and sand was super firm
Local
Wonderful place to play a round of golf. Cheapest prices in town and they don’t over book the course. Don’t ever feel rushed
Enjoyable Dsy
Good afternoon all around ., course was nice and green fairways in good shape .. tee boxes were goid and greens rolled Nicely.. will definitely play again when I’m back down there
Great course
Awesome layout, tees, fairways and greens were all is good shape. Pace of play was very nice.
Greens Condition
The greens were inconsistent sometimes a little slow and sometimes very slow . I think it was caused by the heat they were trying to save some greens by letting the grass grow higher
How is Morehead City half way between the coast and Raleigh?
