First time out
It was crowded for the first day of nice weather, but everyone moved consistently. Was a little damp but had good roll on the greens.
This course was maintained very well
The course has a nice layout and was nicely maintained. After waiting a couple hours for the frost alert to end, me and my group were the first ones sent out. Although there was plenty of moisture, the course was in great shape.
Ladies Beware!
I am a female that has been golfing for 25 years and have NEVER been treated the way I was today by the starter and the ranger. While I am not going to be asked to join the tour anytime soon, I know my way around a course and have been taught proper etiquette. My group of myself, a female friend who is a former collegiate golfer, and another female friend who is learning the game played a quick scramble on a Friday evening. We were spoken to in the most condescending manner by the starter and constantly babysat by the ranger because a group of three females couldn’t possibly know what they were doing unattended by a male on a golf course. The course was backed up and the ranger actually INSTRUCTED us multiple times to hit into the group in front of us. Two of our group members consistently hit 200+ yards and told him we did not feel safe hitting yet (in one instance there was a group of three on the green and a group of 2 in the fairway on a par 4) but allowed our beginner friend to hit to try to comply and move play along as efficiently as possible. He told us “if” we hit them just to yell fore. However he spent so long “explaining” the game to us that we did actually get held up at the tee box and then he proceeded to get upset when we got in our carts so as not to hold up the group in behind us. Blatant sexism aside, the condition and design of this 9 hole course is geared towards novice and casual golfers, however the management seems to believe it is Augusta in the 1800’s. So ladies, if you expect to be treated with equal respect as your male counterparts, find another course. Men, you should be fine at this establishment as long as you keep up with their 10 minute time slots and yell fore when you hit the group in front of you…
Old school fun
For a 9-hole public course, it is really hard to beat little met. Course will play well for all ages and skill levels
Nice beginners course
The holes are short and packed close together so it wouldn’t be ideal on a busy day. The course was in good shape overall. This would be a nice course to work on your short game or to bring a new golfer.
Good course for beginners
Well manicured course. Simple and fair. Nice greens. No water or bunkers. Played 9 in about 2 hours on a Saturday. Staff was friendly and courteous.
