Hickory Nut Golf Club

I have played this golf course for very many many years and it has gone downhill. They have not rolled the greens or have taken care of any of the drainage issues. I understand how weather affects courses but this is out of hand.

Fairways were in great shape. Fairly easy course. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Love that the original is still there.. it gives the course character..

Nobody makes these folks work with Golfnow.com. On the way in, we were warned by a twosome who also booked online that the guy inside was miserable about it. He lived up to the reputation. I handed him my confirmation, he huffed and puffed about the FIVESOME waiting to play in the clubhouse (of which only two or three had arrived at that point). After relenting and giving us a key to the cart, we got out there, but felt totally rushed on the first two holes even before there was anybody behind us.

After we settled in, things were fine. The course was in good enough condition given that it was early to mid-November and had been fairly wet over the preceding days. Seeing as I book most of my rounds online, it's unlikely I'll make may back over there, as they didn't really seem to want us there.

Average difficulty. Play a little slow but kept moving.

Greens were in decent shape bur many areas on the fairway needed work. Also, no savings with Golfnow. Course charges the same rate and does not impose the transaction fee.

This was the first time the wife and I played this course in over ten years and it was a very pleasant surprise. The greens were in very good condition and the rest of the course was well maintained. I would recommend this course to all players for a good day of fun and enjoyment.

Get the bad out of the way first. When we arrived and went inside to confirm the reservation the older gentleman gave us a hard time and didn't even have our tee time down for a slot. Then he told us that we would be behind a ladies league and our tee time was being moved from 10:30 to 10:44 w/o reason other than their mistake. Boils down to them not liking people using cheaper tee tjme sites. But the course was well maintained and the play went off w/o a hitch once we started. The course was fun but there aren't a lot of hazards. That is great since I'm only a second year player but someone looking to shoot a pro style course would be a little bored with the easier style of play. I would imagine that this course would work great for most average golfers.

I had been here a few years ago and it was rough. The place is getting a great turn around, and it is actually a golf course that is moderately challenging, being 'polished up' and worth your time to book it!!

i had not been to the course in years but the new owners have really made a big difference in the course , much nicer than it used to be

I played this course last year and said I would never go back, but they have brought this course back to life. It's in great shape and they are doing more work to make it better.
