Played here for the first time on a beautiful July morning. Weather was perfect, but a little hot.

The staff was very friendly, as we were greeted multiple members of the staff and the starter on the first tee. There were no beverage carts, which was disappointing given the high temperature and humidity. It was a Thursday, so not sure if it would be different on weekends. We were able to get some drinks after 9 holes though.

There is a range available before your round, but as seems to be the theme with this course, it is very small, running out at 175 yards on the right side, and a little over 200 on the left. Drivers stayed in the bag.

The course is pretty nice, about what you would expect for a private course. Very well maintained fairways and rough. The bunkers were a little rocky, but still played nice. The greens rolled true at a medium speed, however a couple of the greens had just been punched, so putts rolled like they were on a peg board. It's a necessary evil, so I won't hold that against the course, just bad timing. It was a relief that this only affected a couple of the holes. There are a few scenic tee shots, from an elevated tee down to the fairway, which is always fun because you get to feel like a pro hitting long tee shots.

The only thing I didn't like about the course was the layout. The holes are all crammed together, so no matter what hole you are on, you can always see at least two others. I prefer courses that are more spread out. To be fair, they did a good job separating most the holes with trees, so you're not hearing "fore!" on every hole like you do at many courses with holes running side by side. All these trees, however, make for some pretty narrow fairways, so accuracy off the tee is a must. A couple times on approach shots, we could see multiple greens and had to be careful to make sure we were aiming for the correct green. The course doesn't have very much water. The main challenge is accuracy off the tee. You can tell it is an older course, as it is short and narrow. This course is very walkable, with minimal distance from green to tee, and we saw many golfers of all ages walking on a pretty hot day.

Overall, I had a great experience at a course I have always wanted to play. I would gladly play there again, although I don't think I would consider becoming a member due to the layout. The grounds crew does a great job with what they have to work with.
