Fox Hollow Golf Club

About
Fox Hollow Golf Course in Somerville sprawls across acres of rolling woodlands, offering dramatic elevation changes throughout the par-70 layout. Designed by local designer Hal Purdy, the abundant trees and hilly terrain have been deftly incorporated into the course. Originally built in 1967, the golf course was completely redesigned in 2000 to make it more challenging while at the same time improving its playability. Since its renovation, it has garnered a local following but it is still one of the better kept secrets of Somerset County, making it likely that golfers will be able to play the golf course regardless of the day or time. In addition to the course, there is also a practice facility with a grass driving range, a bunkered practice green, and an expansive putting green. One reason Fox Hollow G.C. is a popular choice, besides the enjoyable layout, is the affordability it offers.

Good conditions for late march. Greens were surprisingly quick. Staff was excellent.
Gimmick greens
Greens were like playing mini golf, no shot if you were above the hole. They fit 18 holes in a small foot print.
Arrived early to work on some new clubs, practice facility was too far to walk and not enough carts. Grass range was a plus. I guess they can get $80 in that neck of the woods but the extra $20 else where is a far better experience.
Challenging layout
Course is always good, staff is very nice (Bill). Although its a bit early the Greens were still a little rough.
Cold day round
It was a cold morning round. The course was in great shape and condition considering it's March. Fun day overall. Thanks for being open to play.
First play of the year
We played for the first time this year. The course was in great shape considering it is March 16. Pace of play was fine finished in 4 hrs. We play again soon.
I like this layout.
Beautiful December afternoon.
55° softe breeze good pace of play
Nice Challenge
Fox Hollow is a great course that I like to frequent. For playing an the end of November the course was in great shape (tee boxes were excellent). Was wide open so pace of play was not an issue.
A nice golf course
It is a nice golf course
however, pace of play is too slow,we take near 5 hours.
We almost wait at each hole
Basically,have funs here
Need every club in the bag
Old school style course. Small greens that are very fast and hilly. Pin placement can be brutal.any were tucked in corners. Course is par 70. 6 par 3s. Bunkers are almost all hard sand which is always the case when I have played here. Besides the traps I think the course is pretty well maintained overall. It’s a bit overpriced for the quality of the course IMO.
First and last time
Never seen a course so backed up in my life. Took an hour to play 2 holes. Group behind me had about 12 people. Always had three groups in each hole. I don’t know how the owners/rangers can let this happen. Will never come back.
Fun spot
Course was in great condition but greens were too fast. Multiple putts rolled back to their starting spots.
