Birch Run Golf Club

The new owners have destroyed the greens this year, 2022. In some areas, there are 5 to 7-ft wide patches of dirt rings around the outside of the greens (the first 9 holes). I believe they attempted to widen the existing greens. Also, there are depressions in many of the greens from something that looks like "dollar spot." These spots are about a quarter of an inch deep and make it a BIRCH to putt across. The bunkers are being filled in with weeds, not playable. The fairway on 11 is completely covered in Spurge weed. You are better off landing in the rough. Play some where else or maybe just go fishing or out with your wife on a date or something.

Charging more and letting the greens get as bad as they are is not a good business model

It used to be really nice. New owners haven’t had a chance to get it in order so giving them the benefit of the doubt considering they have significantly improved other courses they have purchased. It’s affordable and a decent layout. Pretty fun course. Definitely could use improvements in greens keeping, sand traps, and the like. Hopefully gets better.

drove down 30+ minutes down 75 to play this dump for lack of better words. The greens on the front 9 were rotten and in bad shape. The entire back 9 is short but the tricked out very fast small and lopsided slopped greens makes keeping your approach shot on the Green almost impossible.

In 2020 the course was looking great. The course now is awful. Weeds in flower beds taller than Wilt Chamberlain. There are large brown rings, 3-ft in width, around the greens on the front 9 where they attempted to widen greens and no grass is growing in. The old sand bunkers are completely full of weeds 3 ft tall. They raised the price for walking league members from 10 to 17. If your are not in league, you still pay 10. These new owners (fall of 2021) appear to be lost. There is a reason GN has hot deals of 10 bucks for 18 and a cart.

Bunkers are full of weeds and have been completely let go. Greens have a fungus problem which left second cut on the greens completely dead and pitted out. Back nine has always been short on yardage so to compensate for this they have completely impossible crowned, hard greens that just roll off no matter how you hit them. Ladies tees are an after thought. Just markers in the middle of the fairways on some holes. No cart service for refreshments. The cost is reasonable for the course. Like I said before hopefully over time the new owners can turn this place around like they did Hill Crest.

Played there twice in one week!! Working on the course and making great strides! Very playable for even an average golfer! Club house is very nice and staff was very friendly! We will be back!!
