What happened
I played this course a couple of years ago and remember it being Lin way better shape. The greens look, good roll true, and hold shots well. The “fairways” look like residential yards. It’s hard to tell where to hit the ball the entire course looks like the rough. The tee boxes looked like “fairways” I’m sad that this course is in this poor of shape. I wouldn’t even golf here for the $10 hot deal price.
crabby
Crabgrass on tee boxes, fairways and rough and starting to infiltrate the greens. Course in extremely poor condition.
Wet day
We golfed this course today, but of course it had been raining so very wet,but still had a good time!
Rude to younger people
I showed up with my friend and the worker behind the counter was rude for no apparent reason. Acted like he didn't want young people on his course. Then the cart barn guy was rude and acted like he didn't want young people there either. Will not be returning
Staff was rude
I'm not sure if the staff was rude because I was young but they were not friendly at all. They clearly did not want me and my friend to be there.
Declining Rapidly
I have been a member out at White Oaks for years, but this will be my last. The short cuts they are taking to save money are destroying the course. Mole tracks and crabgrass on the extremely slow/fuzzy greens, severe oil leakage form the mowers is leaving stripes and cross hatched greens every week. Areas that have been mowed for years are now growing up so you can easily loose a ball out int the open. Hole locations do not change for weeks on end. Water system leakage on many holes. Tiny club house with dark and smelly restrooms. Poor Maintenance and poorly managed. This course is no longer worth paying to play on. I used to play there weekly, but I will not be going back.
Was okay for the price. As always you get what you pay for. Could be a really nice course with some work on teeboxes and fairways. Staff was super friendly.
A challenging course
The course is mostly treelined requiring you to be a straight shooter. Woods were pretty thick so ball retrieval was very tough. Greens were fast and course has very few bunkers. Waters comes into play on five holes. I would not recommend this course for the weekend/recreational player.
A Hidden Gem
The Tee boxes are patchy and the fairways are needing more thicker grass but the greens are difficult with the undulations and the slow pace. If in this area, you must play this course and play from the top if your a long hitter as you need to play target golf which makes it challenging. The staff are great and the ranger maw very kind.. this will be on our regular list when in the area.
great course
booking on golf now was less than $15. Course is very challenging. Due to fall weather, a lot of leafs on ground so a great shot could be difficult to find. Water plays on many holes but with accuracy, shouldn't have any worries. Greens are in great shape this time of year with the degree of difficulty challenging
Rock hard fairways
if you're looking to drink beers and hack it around for fun this course is fine. If you care about your game or take it serious at all play somewhere else. Greens were good enough but the "fairways" were hard as a rock. Rough and fairways both very patchy and hard underneath. Really frustrating when you have a wedge in on your 2nd shot and can't take a divot and hit a good shot that will stick on the green. Course lacks adequate irrigation for the summer months. Save the $$$ and play in a parking lot.
Tricky golf course
At first glance it seems like a short course at 6000 something yards, but that is deceiving as through the use of tight doglegs your approach shots wind up being much longer than expected. This is not a grip it and rip it course. You need to place the ball in to specific areas to have a shot. The course does need some tidying up to play from the blue tees in particular the 8th hole which provides almost no access to the fairway because of overhanging trees, but overall the course upkeep is well done.
