The address is on OK HWY 18, but you had better call for directions. It's not exactly on HWY 18. But you need to call anyway to be sure they are not having a tournament. If they are, you are in deep trouble.
The drawbacks to a 9-hole course are obvious, but if that does not bother you this course is going to be your new go-to spot when you want to get out of town and play some relaxing golf. Nice pace, no crowds, wonderful scenery. And reasonably priced, which is always nice.
The pro shop is just adequate for the job, but the course itself is darned nice. You see Bell Cow Lake from most holes and the layout is downright nice to look at.. And deceptive.
Depending on where the course munchkin decides to put the tee markers, you can be in trouble from the first swing on about any hole. They can (and do) have you teeing off between trees, over trees, around trees, over water, uphill and VERY rarely just straight ahead.
The fairways are in decent shape for a muni, but the greens are postage stamp size with undulations that are just maddening. I recommend chip and run for these greens. Too easy to miss with your wedge.
Yes, Type 2 fun. It can be frustrating while playing, but it is the kind of difficulty that looks fun in your rearview. All in all, a place that looks nice and leaves you wanting a chance to prove you actually can shoot beside a tree instead of straight into it.
Good value for money
One of the better nine hole courses around. Greens were in excellent shape and the course right next to a very pretty lake. Very nice staff and cheap food and beer. Will definitely be back.
tough little greens
Bring your short game and dial in your putter. Well designed little course with dog legs, tight fairways, water and sand traps. The greens don't have anything that resembles a "flat spot" anywhere on them. Think you can putt? Try this one!
