Golf Advisor: Top Courses in Oklahoma (2015 #7)
Reviews
Great little course
I have played here in the past and the course was in decent shape but it is in great shape right now. Greens roll true and will hold a shot. Tee boxes and fairways were in really good shape. This course is kind of out in the country but worth the drive. Green fee and cart only $25.
Turkey Creek, one of my fav's
Played Turkey Creek on 5-23 at 1:30. Course is in great shape especially considering they just aerated the fairways. Hot Hot that day, 99 degrees. Best part was hardly anyone there that day. I'll be back, as always. One of my favorite courses
Nothing to write home about
Staff complained about wife's shirt not having a collar, saw plenty of jeans and t-shirts on course. Starting on hole 5 and finishing on hole 4 is probably the dumbest thing I encountered this week. Change your numbering when you actually build your "new clubhouse". Watering greens in the middle of the day, greens were extremely slow and hairy, punch marks were prominent. There were dead spots around fringes. No water on course. Had several people drive through the fairways of the hole we were on. Not impressed with this goat track.
Great Walk in The Park in Early Spring
I play Turkey Creek maybe once a year. In spite of the unusually heavy rains this season, the course was very playable and even firm in parts. The green aeration healing is excellent. The variety of holes and contours makes Turkey Creek a good test. The natural environment just adds to the mix. For the cost (great on-line specials), this is a must play course for golfers of all levels. Fun, challenging and even relaxing environment.
Wait til spring
This is a good course to play but I would wait until things green up again. Most of the greens are very small and had a lot of rough patches on them. There were areas of the fairway that was like being in a bunker. I've played here in the spring and summer and it's not too bad, but I wouldn't play in the winter or fall again.
A little quirky but fun to play!
Course design offers a wide variety of challenges including left to right, right to left, small greens, large greens, falsefronts, hazards of all types, etc. You will use all of your clubs by the time you finish!
Great place to play
Greens are in bed shape now but normally very well kept course and great staff. Well worth the drive from OKC.
Turkey Creek
Some greens were a little rough with dead spots and ruts from mowing . Fairways mostly covered in the cuttings of the mowed grass.
Good course
They are having some trouble with their greens but the course is always in good shape.
Greens need some work but overall good course
Enjoyable round of golf , the greens were a bit bumpy by overall great course to play
Birdies but no turkey
Played this course once before. They have had some recent rains and it shows. The course is in good condition, nice, soft, and green. They do a lot with a little here at Turkey Creek.
Challenging course
Turkey Creek is challenging but fair. Great scenery and course layout. Course in great condition.
One of the main pluses is the variety and difference between holes and greens. Another plus is playing golf "tn the wild" unencumbered by homes dotting the fairways as in other courses.
Turkey Creek is one of the better courses in the area.
Fun course to play.
Staff was friendly. Course has good layout. Few holes are challenging. They are in process of building a new Pro shop. I will play this again.
Excellent Condition
I play this course about 10 times a year and the course is always in excellent condition. Best value in Northwest Oklahoma. Will get even better when new clubhouse and grill opens.
Awesome Course
Love..love..this course! We live in Houston ,tx! Visit my family that live in Enid! Always enjoy playing! I brag about Turkey Creek all the time!
Best value in Oklahoma
This is a great course. Even though it doesn't look long on the score card there are some holes long hitters will love. The course was very green this day, due to the record rainfall this year. There are not to many bunkers on this course. Some of the greens are small so precision irons are a bonus. While other holes allow shots to be played on the ground for a links style feel. It is "out in the country" so the atmosphere can't be beat, combine that with a well groomed course and a great price, what do you get? Pure GOLF FUN!
country oasis
it was truly a pleasure to play this well kept golf course
90 mile drive but well worth it.
Whatevery
As nice a public course there is in Oklahoma and better than many of the private clubs! Excellent greens and friendly staff! A Pleasure to play!
Yep...small greens
reviews are right... very small greens, but was pleasantly surprised. Evidently in the process of changing the order of the layout, as we actually started on #5 ( i guess used to be #1)... it was quite humorous as the other persons we asked where to start, they said go ahead and start there, its the old setup.
Would go back again.
Great Day Trip
Greens were great, fairways a bit rough. And speaking of rough, there is a lot of it and so it makes it more challenging to stay on the Fairway and not lose your ball in the prairie grass. But fairways very wide.
Made a 3pm tee time and got done in 3.5 hours. Hit Eichens on the trip back to the City. Perfect afternoon and evening out.
