Cow pasture
Played yesterday and I recognize that it is March in Pa. However, the ownership should be embarrassed to charge 60.00 for these course conditions. Not one level tee box, forget about grass even dormant grass- there is none. From tee to green it is nothing but patches and you can’t tell the difference between dormant grass and weeds. Bunkers were chunky and left completely unraked by the clientele that seems
to accept playing at a horrible golf course. The staff person who stole my money was very nice and is the only positive thing about this course.
ps. I have played this course in mid summer and it never gets to a point that is worth what this place charges.
Carts were filthy
Unbelievable filthy carts. Carts had not been cleaned for days. Flies attracted by the spilled drinks and not be washed. Hopefully the turkey pens are clean?
Well maintained and great price - new owners !
Now it’s called The Club at Twin Lakes and owned by the Jaindl family
They out a TON of money into the course. Was well done. This is a drought in august and the greens were damp and lush from good regular watering. Of course slower than dry ones in the area but they have staff going around during the afternoon doing more work. Notable !
Cart paths are nice and wide so we do t run over the grass and make it look bad. Pet peeve of mine.
Tee boxes good. A few holes like 18 need a larger or a few more to keep them from getting worn out but they’re good at this point
Sand traps nice a soft and clean. Better than nearly all public courses in the area.
Fairways decent. They’re watering them also but you can tell it’s august. No complaints.
Staff were all friendly and helpful.
I don’t like the gas carts myself. I lean towards electrical. Smoother and quieter
Pace of play real good both times I was here. Two groups let me through and I played 18 holes in 2 1/2 hours.
Food is very good. Another better than most rating. Wife rode along and we both ate and found it very good Outside patios are real comfortable.
The course is short overall. Back tees are a hair over 6,000 yards. Trees a mature and nice and few don’t come into play unless you mess up.
They’ve jumped this former crappy course up several notches. Huge improvement.
Golf in January
The biggest let down was that after booking the tee time online, we arrived, and were advised that they had closed all tee boxes and that we were going to have to play from in front of the closest tee box. I would have been ok with that, except they were still charging normal winter rates. At the end of the day, I was glad to get out and get a round in, in January. With some work and the addition of some cart paths, this could be a nice course, until then it is not worth the money the are asking to play there. I have no problem paying $100 or more for a round if it is worth it.
Golf on Xmas Eve in PA
Course management called me about a hour before my tee time. They said it would be walking only. I did not mind because I like to carry my bag when I play. I should have contacted Golfnow because my payment included cart. Course was very playable despite it being Christmas Eve day.
Nice Course
Course is nice for the money. Plays short. Check out the yardages before playing. Watch out for the water on 18. One of the few courses where the turn to back 9 isn’t at the clubhouse.
Ugly Staffs
Course is not too bad but staff in club house is ugly and unfriend ly. I will never go there anymore.
Time to put Iron back in my game
Iron Lakes suffered from flooding last year destroying several fairways and emptying many bunkers. They have worked hard to bring this track back. There are still places where the fairways are damaged and the worst bunkers have been redone. The rumor is that the club is going to do major work over the winter on the bunkers throughout the course. We teed off at 2:30 and played in 3.5 hours as a 4-some. The greens were slower than most courses in the area but looked healthy. Time to put Iron back in my game.
Course has a very interesting layout. Had some water damage from the extreme rain. Got around in 3:40. Try Iron Lakes
Challenges are plenty
Iron Lakes has elevation, dog legs, and ponds that make you think. Course staff was pleasant and kept the course in solid shape.
Will play again.
Nice course, good conditions and a 3 1/2 hour round in great weather make for a very good day.
On the upswing
Management and staff have put in a lot of work to repair water damage from last season. Greens are very good and the low lying areas that were inundated are coming back. Will not be perfect overnight but definitely worth going back to if you have not been there for awhile
Good Course
Iron Lakes'fairways and greens were in very good condition. The tee boxes could some work but not too bad. There were a lot of wet areas but most of them really didn't come into play at all. Thor the golf pro there is a very nice man who wants to make your experience as pleasurable as possible.
Save your money
I don’t like trashing a course, but this was just plain bad. Nothing close to what the website gives the impression of. Starter should look at the big picture. Course was in bad shape all around. How it rates 4 stars is an absolute overstatement.
Cow pasture
Only played there because golfnow hot deal but it wasn't even worth the $12 honestly they should offer free golf and throw in a hot dog and beer for how poor the course looked. Best bet for them is close for a month and hire some help there isn't a good comment I can think of and I'm not a complainer. They even have the nerve to try and sell junk balls in pro shop for $1 each save your hard earned money for something better in my opinion hopefully this saves someone 4 hours of disgust
Great course
I played the first day of spring and the course was in nice shape for this early in the year.As always the staff was very friendly and the pace of play was very good.I play this course several times a year and it is one of my favorite courses in the Lehigh Valley
Course is a little short. 6000 from the blues. Nice greens. Speed of play was great.
