Awful winter conditions
I’ve played this course a dozen times or so, and typically find it to be fun and fair, but the conditions most recently were awful. The greens were covered in grass specs and the bunkers were unplayable. I understand it’s January and so the conditions will suffer a bit, but I was forced to pay the same fee I’d pay for golf in Mid May, and that’s just silly. I won’t be returning in the winter unless the fees change. Winter pricing is key for a place that isn’t putting money into the course over the off season!

First time playing on holes - have been playing in FL on all Par 3 courses
Great employees, super friendly!
Going to try for once a week 😀
Great course for the Money
Course was a bit wet but otherwise in great shape. Enjoyed the pace of play and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend and will be playing again.
Worst its ever been
I’ve been playing this course for over 30 years. In years past this has been one of those courses that you can say was a great value for your $$. The greens were always in decent shape and rolling true despite being a muni. I won’t be able to say that anymore. The greens are in awful shape (browns vs greens). Putting is a rollercoaster hit and pray scenario. Bunkers are a mess with no rakes (back 9 has all bunkers ground under repair). Tee boxes are roached and the fairways aren’t much better. Finally and my real reason for writing this is the change in staff. You could always count on a warm smile and a helpful person to be there in the pro shop. They’ve been replaced by the new regime and are quite the opposite of friendly. I’ll be going to the divide or another course from now on. Put this one on the same list as old sycamore and other local courses as “used to be good and now not worth the money.”
positive course changes
I was surprised and pleased at the improvements from just a couple months ago when the course was in terrible shape. Now the work they've done shows and it is almost all the way back to when it was top quality. Tees, Fairways and greens are very nice. Greens are quite fast and smooth. They are working on the bunkers and you can tell are doing the right thing to improve them.
The fairways are huge and very inviting, the greens were freshly cut and rolled when I played so they were very fast. For a muny course the greens were in really good shape. There was only one hole that the green had some problems. I’ve seen private club greens in worse condition though, I was impressed! Overall the course was fun.
Greens
Greens were not consistent with cut / speed
Sand traps were terrible
Public course
This place is always crowded, and therefore it takes a really long time to play a round.
Thank you for the feedback regarding your round here and we are disappointed to hear that we didn’t meet your expectations.
When we started here this time last year, we developed an extensive capital improvement plan for all 4 courses that encompasses clubhouse, course, and infrastructure improvements over the next 5 years. Some highlights from 2024 at Charles T. Myers are bunker renovations (in progress), drainage improvements, and a full clubhouse renovation. In 2025, we are excited about the driving range improvement projects taking place this month, as well as a special partner project taking place in Q2, which we will provide full detail on soon. We believe all these improvements increase the playability and enjoyment golfers can find at our courses.
Regarding the value you received, we’d like to make that right for you. Please email me at jack.doby@meckcountygolf.com and I will gladly send you a round to come back and see the improvements we have made whenever you’d like.
Thank you again for the feedback, and we hope to the opportunity to win back your loyalty.
Sincerely,
Jack Doby
