Maintenance crew
Although this course is not the most eloquent course in the area the maintenance crew didn’t seem to care about people playing. We had several workers drive in front off sun while we were hitting. They appeared to be adding some sort of sprinkler/ irrigation to the course. There was construction all over the front 9.
The back was our favorite.
Nice place to play even when it’s under construction.
Hole 16 was under construction so it was unplayable. Course maintenance is necessary though, so I understand. Otherwise it’s a nice course.
Fall golf at its finest
First time out at Armitage this year. Great round as always. Pace of play was great on the front, but lost 2 partners on the back and had to wait a little. Not the end of the world. Greens were in great shape. Bunkers were in good shape as well, only in 2 all day. No rakes out there but I’m guessing that’s due to it being fall.
Nice
Nice little course has some decent difficulty holes. Nice price. Great staff. Will play again
Short but memorable
This was the first time we played this course and it was in excellent condition for the last day of October. The greens and fairways were well-maintained and lush even after many weeks without rain.(Although that made for some difficulty holding the greens) The staff was helpful and the restaurant /bar is fantastic. The price to play is so reasonable that I spent more money on lunch and a couple of beers than the cost of the round and the cart.
Armitage :Short, Narrow and Testy!
Short and Narrow. Fast greens. #2 & #10 greens are sloped and tough but #16 is the most difficult.
Armitage
Overall terrible experience. I play here 3 times per month. 18 holes took 5.5 hours to play. Pace of play was atrocious. Mistakenly drove 90 degrees across fairway on hole 10 and ranger came out. Ranger approached me, while driving across the same fairway, only to scold me for driving across the fairway. My mistake, yes. However, the ranger spoke to me like I was a child and tried to be extremely rude. If the ranger is going to approach folks it needs to be in a respectful manner. Do not approach grown adults and try to make a point by being rude. IF cart path only, make sure your starter is telling players.
Tip of the cap to staff - outstanding conditions considering recent weather - professional & courteous staff among BEST in area. Well done!
I enjoy this course but sometimes pace of play is slow.
Player Beware
Played at 852am and we were started on the front 9. Greensmen were everywhere mowing and treating the grass and the greens were recently aerated. Pace of play started off fine and we finished the front in a little over an hour. When we got to the 10th tee they were starting the afternoon tee times on the back 9. There was one group teeing off, followed by two more, then us. We attempted to hit the 5 iron grill for snacks and drinks only to find out it was closed but states it opens at 6am? Round ended up being so slow that my group left on the 15th tee. I will say the price was good but there are other courses in the area that are miles ahead for the cheap price of 30 bucks.
Playing at 852 in the morning at Armitage golf club. they will not start people on the back nine until leagues at 2pm. Second the restaurant has never opened before 10.00AM. Third the restaurant name is Caddy Shack, If you are going to slam a Business, try to have the facts correct!!!
