No tee times for singles
I’m pretty new to the area. Grandview won’t give a single player a tee time. I try to get to the course before the first group out in the morning makes the turn but I can’t get there before 8:30 am sometimes. I pay my yearly dues but I’m only able to play 9 holes most of the time when I can get there before 8:30. Plus the back nine is rarely ready for play. Leaves, morning dew on green. Plus you have to dodge the sprinkler system that’s always on!
Got my $$ worth
Played with with a friend who lives in York Co on a $15 deal from GroupGolfer. Upon arrival there was a person outside taking certificates and fees and permitted me to jump right on. Despite there being a good number of people on the course, I was able to sneak in a hole for practice until my friend arrived. Be forewarned: there is a sign I didn't see saying no carts in lot. I rode the cart right my friends car, got a scowl, but that's it.
It was a windy day so it's not entirely fair to evaluate the ease or difficulty. Our biggest complaints were:
1. tee boxes need to be mowed
2. Course VERY poorly marked.
3. put more 150 yard markers
Otherwise I'd give the course a B. Despite aeration holes, the greens were rolling fairly true. The course has a nice mix of long and reachable holes. Cart paths are practically non-existent, but the carts worked well and the terrain was pretty smooth. No drinking water on course so bring your own.
For regular prices I wouldn't go back because I have so many better options nearby, but for $15, I'd say I easily got my money's worth
Good course at a great price
Greens are some of the best I've played on in the last few years. We played from temporary tees, as the main tees were being worked on. Nice routing, good holes with no two alike. Food & drink at Brewvino after the round were excellent.
Everything is rough
This was the first and probably last time I play this course. Lucky I didn't pay for it. The tee boxes are all in bad shape, there's no difference between the fairway and the rough and the greens are all small and flat. The layout is poor, and not well marked. With the grass being all the same length with little to no boundaries between fairways, it made it difficult to know which fairway was the one for the hole. Also, ratchet straps maybe appropriate to secure your bag due to the condition of the cart paths. Bad conditions does not make for challenging play, just unenjoyable play.
Worst customer service I have ever experienced
Me and my friend had a dreadful experience. We finished up the 4th hole after 40 minutes, and got told we were playing too slow, and were flat out berated. 15 mins maximum on a hole is standard, and we were 20 mins ahead of that. Dont duff an iron shot here.. I couldn't enjoy the rest of my round after that. I've been a restaurant manager, so I try to never complain, but I had to this time. The manager, Jordan, sent us two 18 hole passes, which was appreciated, but that was only after I said I'd never be back. When I went to book our free round, the employee got us a time and said see you then. I ended the call with "Thank you very much. I appreciate it! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day".. and she responded with a lethargic "whaaatever" and hung up.
Impeccable customer service.. I was absolutely shocked and appalled. But hey, it's free golf, so I still played it, but there's issues at this place that extend beyond basic manners. People are all over each others fairways because of the layout. The tee boxes are absolutely destroyed. There's huge patches of weeds in the middle of some fairways. Laughable cart paths. Spend your money 10 minutes up the road at Briarwood, where the staff is so lovable and works hard maintaining a great course. You wont find any of that here. Too many courses in York county to treat people this way. I'd be ashamed to own this business.
Plays like it was laid out backwards
Poor conditions. Poorly marked tee boxes. Beat up fairways. Scrubby greens. Honey Run a better choice.
Perfect (ly Gender and Racially Biased!)
As golf courses go, this one is the absolute epitome of sexist and racist. If you are either a woman or a person of color visiting this course, make sure that you have video recording capabilities available and with you at all times. I was so happy to hear that this good ol' boys club is facing not only closure but legal ramifications. #Karma
Terrible Course - land should be turned into home sites...
Worst course in the area. Not worth a $5 green fee.
Better Not Play Slow
Don't play slow around here. Owners will call the cops on you.
Great course
This is a nice course ,very clean. Very friendly place to enjoy a round of golf .
Rude Service if you’re a minority
Everything sucked except the pace of play because if you don’t keep up they call the cops on you. Good luck with your business.
Absolute Dump
Very incompetent staff all they way up to ownership. Weak minded, can't handle situations that arise.
Terrible golf course
I have never seen a course in worse shape. Staff allows fivesomes. Pro shop staff and membership was borderline hostile and as unwelcoming as I have ever seen at any golf course in 39 years of playing. No chance of returning.
Worst Golf Course Ever
Worst place ever to go play golf, you might get risk get thrown on your behind. Service is not friendly just bad bad news.
