Witch Golf Club

About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2021.
The Witch golf course is situated between Conway and Myrtle Beach, S.C. sprawling across more than 500 secluded acres that are far removed from residential and commercial development. The peaceful setting is abundant with wildlife including bald eagles and deer. You may even see an alligator during your round. The Dan Maples design has a challenging but fun routing that is known for the tricky green complexes. There is plenty of variety throughout with a front nine that plays through marshland and a back nine that is routed across rolling hills. There are a few forced carries and some strategically placed bunkers but you won't find much water on the golf course. The fairways range from wide to narrow, and the well manicured, undulating greens roll fast and true. The Witch is a popular round on the Myrtle Beach golf circuit.

Too bad The Witch is going out of business. Nice layout. Greens were rock hard, probably because they stopped watering them.
So sad the course is closing
Loved playing this course! It was so unique, beautiful & fun!!
Play it now, it's closing soon.
We enjoyed this course very much. It is mostly secluded, surrounded by trees, lakes and marsh for most of the holes. It is clear that a bit of maintenance has been put off due to the plan to close soon to make way for building houses. Play it before it closes for an enjoyable round.
The Witch is friendly
We are visiting Myrtle from Pa. Enjoyed playing this course. It is good layout through beautiful Carolina marsh. There are no houses so you really enjoy the natural beauty. We learned that the Witch is closing soon and houses built in it’s place. So sad it will disappear. Glad we got to play it before it’s history.
Used to be great. Now average at best. Pricey for the condition.
The course layout and staff were great. But this course has gone downhill. And for the price ($90), there are many better options around the Grand Strand.
Very nice course
Great round of golf. Staff very friendly. Course was in great shape, with just a few bare spots on some greens. Glad we got to play there, having learned they will be shutting down for another housing development.
Nice golf day
For a course that is going to close in 2 months they are keeping it in good condition. A fun course to play.
Nice course
Overall course was in decent condition
Pace of play was good
Staff was not very welcoming
Ladies Bathrooms not fit to be used
Play it now!
This course is a hidden gem - too bad it has been sold and will not be around after Nov. Play it while you can.
The staff was super friendly! Everyone - and I mean everyone.
The layout is so fun and not your typical resort kind of course. The bridges through the swamp areas are fun and make it so interesting.
It was quite wet but there had been lots of storms. It didn't matter though - the course was just so different. It is a little rough around the edges but I chalk that up to being in the sold state. I would definitely play it again.
Beautiful layout
We basically had the course to ourselves. The front nine are spectacular and so secluded. Great course.
The Witch
Course was in good shape. Greens were aerated 3 weeks ago and are almost back to 100%. Best part is when playing a hole, you don't see other golfers. Every hole is separate from every other hole. Interesting layout with forced carries on several holes.
Play was interrupted by showers a couple of times so it was a long round. A woman who worked in the proshop/restaurant wasn't happy that we stayed and waited out the rain to finish our round. We finished at 2:30. She was rude and ended a pretty good day on a sour note. I would play here again
Disappointing coindition on multiple greens and tee boxes
I enjoyed the course layout. With all the options to choose from in the Myrtle Beach area, it would be hard for me to decide to play here again with the bad conditions on multiple greens and tee boxes.
