Another terrible experience
There were 11 carts in line to tee off on the Wildcat course 5 mins before my tee time. The starter was hiding again, and the clubhouse staff told me a large group had been booked on Wildcat so I’d been moved to Old Hickory. I hate Old Hickory, from both layout and course condition perspectives and honestly I would have played somewhere else had I known I wouldn’t be playing Wildcat as I had booked. Old Hickory was slammed and the pace of play was terrible. I left after 7 holes. It will be a while before I spend my money at Ft. Jackson again.
Greens were great this day
Old Hickory was in great shape this day and greens were great
Don't schedule tee time online
Love being able to look on the app to get an idea of how busy either course is for the day, but booking a tee time is worthless because their computer system doesn't recognize the reservation. The communication with the clubhouse attendant can be frustrating to get checked in. Also, the app doesn't recognize 9-hole option, so you have to try and adjust at check-in, but they don't always cooperate.
Both courses at Ft Jackson are amazing. Both have great layouts and really well maintained. Wildcat is definitely more open and forgiving in the fairways; Old Hickory is a bit tighter. Greens, on both courses, generally run a little faster than expected.
Practice areas are amazing with 2 putting greens, bunker/chipping area and large driving range.
Clubhouse lacks amenities, such as snacks and beverage choices. Also, yet to see any course carts for snacks during the round.
