The Valley at Eastport Golf Club

About
Architect Dennis Griffiths designed this track as a finesse course. He did not produce the typical beach layout when he created this 18-hole design, built in 1988. It has narrow bermudagrass fairways and large bentgrass greens and is bordered on the east by the Intracoastal Waterway.
Holes No. 1 through 15 are short, and the course lulls you up to this point. Then, the last three holes are uncharacteristically difficult. The course is mostly flat, with occasional uneven lies. Some tree-lined fairways have doglegs. The course is always fun to play and an especially fun round of golf for couples.

Pretty good. Great value
Greens on the front were rough but mostly good conditions
Greens need help
Played this course dozens of times over the years and the greens were the worst I’ve seen in a quite a while. Tees and fairways were in decent shape and very playable. Greens need some TLC for the rate being charged.
Rain check
Only got nine in due to rainstorm that came in at the turn trying to get rain check for nine but have not heard back from the e mail I sent
Greens need some attention
We love this course and play it every time we are in the area. Sometimes more than once. It has a nice layout and can be challenging. We played twice this trip but were disappointed with the condition of the greens. They appear to have a fungus with many bare areas. Do not expect to have a smooth putt on a good number of greens. Hopefully this is a fluke and can be cleared up if given some attention .
.
Great conditions, not crowded.
Two of us went early on a Wednesday. No one directly ahead or behind us despite perfect weather. Course was in great shape.
Only down side was underbrush around shrubs made it tough to find errant shots.
Enjoyed the round
The greens were spotty, fairways were pretty good. 👍
Late afternoon nine
I had a 3:30pm tee time for nine holes so have no idea about the back nine . The front has a few holes 3,4,5 with houses up to fairways rough, so I aim at the tress, The ninth green need to club up over water into the wind. The cartpath need work.
Greens fast but too bumpy
Lots of poi Anna and weed tops on the greens. Greens bumpy - need punching and sanding. Cart paths have become progressively worse. Fairways are coming out. With some care, greens should be good later on.
Inexpensive but…,,
One of the best prices in the area. The layout was ok, with lots of water, bunkers and narrow tree line fairways. It was fairly short as well. The tea boxes were good. The fairways were not good, A lot of dirt patches, but not the worst I’ve seen. The greens were like putting on bumpy pool tables. You couldn’t hit a consistent putt Because of the bumps, and everything rolled way past the hole on even Simple putts. Many of the greens did not have defined collars either, reminding me somewhat of a pitching pot course. As with some courses in the area if you’re just looking to hack around or are beginner and you’re looking for a good price, this would be a good course for you. If you’re a serious golfer, looking for a quality course I have to say this is not it.
Great course, good challenge.

Fun Layout. Staff needs improvement
It’s a shame to come out a play a nice round of golf at a great pace on a super fun layout but you miss out on a 5 star review because off staff. How hard is it just to be nice. The cart guy definitely rubbed me the wrong way. He questioned our pace of play on the turn with not a single person behind us on a Wednesday afternoon. Almost as if someone called and complained about pace but we knew that wasn’t the case because there was not a single soul behind us. I mean if he would have just said nothing at all, for bag for buck 5 star review. Also the older lady at the snack bar struggled mightily just to buy some hotdogs which was the only option. Someone tell the starter to just say less.
Needs Improvement
Greens were ok for the time of year. Tee boxes need work. Lucky it wasn't cart path only as the asphalt is all broken up so drive on the fairway when possible. After 4:00pm the clubhouse is CLOSED can't use the restroom. Should have a port-a-john available. Find a different course to play
