Always a class act
This course is so fun and challenging. The layout isn’t for someone who always grips it and rips it. There’s so many features that it makes is a fun time and still have a great time. Watch for the gators.
Overpriced
Expensive course. Certainly not a below average course. We weren’t aware we were teeing off on 10, just that nobody advised us until the last minute. I think there a lot more courses available at a lower rate.
Top notch track
Pawleys is a must play. The course is beautiful and the grass was extremely well maintained. It was a real pleasure to play such a professionally prepared layout Don’t pass it up if you’re in the area.
Almost perfect
We renewed our outing this year and had 14 guys for our trip. Pro Shop staff very good, starter was knowledgeable and friendly. Course was very good. The guy handling bag drop and carts was a TOTAL JERK. RUDE AND UNFRIENDLY. We played 3 other courses in the area and the treatment we received was awesome. I heard other people on the range complaining about him as well.
Beautiful course!
Back 9 has incredible views! Course was in great shape for this time of year (Feb 3).
Great Day
It had rained the night before but the course was in great condition! The starter was super helpful and provided helpful information. Free range balls. I shoot in the high eighties/low nineties. I played the white tees which seemed really short. I probably should have played the white tees which would have been a little more challenging. I never saw a beverage cart but bought some beers at the turn. I payed $91 using the Golf Now app.
Overall
First time playing here
Staff very friendly and helpful. Course was in excellent condition. Fairways and greens well manicured.
After round stayed to have lunch, sandwiches were excellent and waitress checked other to make sure we were doing ok
Will definitely be back to play and would highly recommend playing bere
Love this course!
Interesting and fun layout through swamps, marshes, beautiful homes and large majestic tress. Gators in the ponds. Greens were the fastest we’ve played on our golf trip. Only negative was that the tee boxes could be in better shape, but that was minor.
Excellent Course
First round there. Very impressed with the conditions, staff, restaurant, etc. Will definitely replay it in the future!
Great course would love to play again
Very well designed course with a lot of interesting and fun holes. Our 15 year old son loved 13 and 17 and we all enjoyed a great day of golf at a leisurely pace. Would definitely come back the next time we travel to the Myrtle Beach area.
Fun, strategic course playing through and along marshland
This is a highly enjoyable course. It has the good strategic features and variety that I've seen on a number of Nicklaus courses. The holes on the back nine out on, into, and along the marshes give a great scenic experience. Other than having a massive tree right in the middle of the 9th fairway, which is one of the nuttiest things I have seen regarding playing a golf hole, the course is filled with good risk-reward options. The fairway width is fair with areas to play away from trouble usually, and the greens have good slopes and undulations. The two par-3s from the bridge over the marshes are a bit do or die. It's a nice walk other than some green to tee treks. Definitely a top-tier course and fun to play.
Renovation Comes Up Short--At Least for Now
We come to Pawley's Island for our annual golf trip and the group has always played Pawleys Plantation and enjoyed it. It was one of their favorites. We were one of the last groups to play before they closed it for renovation. Played in early April and every single golfer in my group was deeply disappointed. Lots of brown spots, fairways not in good shape, greens and surrounding areas also not acceptable. Perhaps the renovation needs another year or two to grow and take shape. We played other courses during our trip in Pawley's Island and they were all in far better shape. I would be careful booking around here until things shape up a bit. At least have a conversation with the Pro Shop. I doubt we will return for a few years. It hurts to say that given how much we like this track in the past.
Easter Morning Round
This was a pleasant surprise for a Sunday morning tee time. We were the first group off the back tees, easily played the course in 4 hours even with being a two start course (fronts/backs). The course was in great condition, the fairways were in good shape and the greens were firm and rolled true. We would absolutely play it again and it was worth every penny.
