Indian River in October 2022
I have been playing this course for some 4 years now. I know what to expect so I don't complain, BUT.. It is a shame the owner let this lyncs style course fall into such a level of disgrace. We are now playing ALL 18 greens as automatic two puts. THEY ARE HORRIBLE. The majority of the fairways are acceptable, with the exception of number # 6. This hole needs to just be closed and have the front side with 8 holes.
But like I said I know what to expect, so I don't complain. It will be exciting to see what the NEW OWNERS do with this piece of property. For $22, not a bad deal.
New management
Have played this course many times, however it is in a major transition stage. I hope they get it back to what it used to be. I’ll come back later!

When you do come back... expect to pay $125 to play...
Course Rating
Great layout, friendly staff, but the course is in the worst shape I ever seen a golf course. I drove an hour to play there because I love the layout, but was extremely disappointed in the conditions of course.. Until someone does something to get the course back in playing condition, I would not recommend you play there.
Needs Desperate Help
Have played this course a few times over the years and only considered it an option because of the usual low price compared to other local courses. This course is nearing unplayable, the “greens” are abysmal with not one single green being free of craters or Sand and fairways unkept. Cart paths are deteriorated and have multiple cones marking dangerous craters within the road. Staff being kind is the only plus of this course and the price can be tempting but money could be spent better at ANY course other than this one.
Unplayable
Makes charwood look like pebble beach. Worst greens I have ever seen and some fairways had no grass and had craters all throughout. Staff was friendly and price was cheap but they should not be open right now until they fix the course. Chili cheese dog is good though.
Horrible
Literally the worst course I’ve ever played. I’ve seen cow pasture with more grass. When checking in, the Pro was arguing with his wife in the shop. Blows my mind they have the audacity to take people money.
I gave one star cause zero not an option
This was a great course several years ago but it has been allowed to fall apart. I felt as if zombies might rise from the fairway(which at some places was so overgrown if looked like field) and try to eat me..
Chopped up greens
Greens overall were a disaster. There was an aerayion warning on the site but that does not explain why so many of the greens were bare sand.
Barren Wasteland
This course is a barren wasteland. A couple of the fairways didn’t have any grass, nothing but dirt and weeds. Every green had patches of turf missing and you should leave your putter at home since you have to chip on the putting surface. The course is unplayable and they should not book tee times until serious maintenance is done.
Needs Work
The course needs a lot of work but I assume they don’t have the money to do it. I go there because it’s never crowded and I can practice without waiting. Plus they are the cheapest course on Golf Now.
Course Surprises You
Although the course still needs work, while I was there they were watering, cutting, and trimming it up. Course design is awesome and very challenging. I went there for practice and got exactly what I needed. Many have questioned how it looks but I see people working it. I was told no grass on greens or fairways. Not true. Yes greens had rough spots! Fairways, IMO were coming a long great. I would play this course again!
It's not a links-style course!! Links don't have trees!! Solina Golf Club (formerly Indian River) is a parkland-style golf course and is now being compared (after its renovation) to Pinehurst but will be a private golf course. It is owned by the Bryan brothers, Wesley and George.
You just "complained"... but it's understandable. Realize this though, when the new ownership is done with their concept project and IF it remains open to the public, it will surely be the single-most expensive golf course in Columbia area. They are already $15 million into this project and it's not even half done. Your $22 deal will most likely become a $125 green fee... then let;s see if you "don't complain".
