State Park value
Course was in good condition for a State Park/Municipal course. Greens were good fairways need some attention. Got done with the round in 4 hrs with is great for a Saturday tee time at 9:30 am. The staff was friendly and helpful
Montgomery Bell Golf Course
Good course Layout. Rough very dry from lack of rain but fairways greens and tees were in really good shap. Very friendly shop staff. Would play again if ever in that area
Soggy but if Dry would bea nice course
My Son In Laws and Son took me to play golf fro My Birthday on Sunday and unfortunately this was after 3 days of heavy rains from the left over hurricane that had been passing through from Florida a few days earlier. Course was very soggy and saturated which made it very difficult to play and of course the holes were cart path only due to the saturation. We made the best of it as it was still raining all round but honestly they should have closed the course for a multitude of reasons to protect its condition, protect the players experience but sadly they did not. This made for a less than ideal experience. Their ranger was also very grumpy and short with us which did not make it better/
Need a new starter
I’ve played this course 15 times but will never again because the starter ruined the whole experience for an other wise solid course. I came up to the starter at 6:50 for my 7am tee time (checked in at the pro shop at 6:45) and he was incredibly rude.
He told me “Well I’m showing past 7 so your group is already almost done with hole 1”. After showing him 6:50 on my phone and his phone, I asked him if I should go ahead and tee off and he looked at me and said “no you should not have missed your tee time, it’s not my problem…”
I had to skip hole 1 to catch the group I was supposed to play with (who were incredibly kind and also very perplexed at the whole situation). Needless to say, I won’t be coming here anymore as long as that starter is there.
Guest in Town
I hosted a friend who was in town to a round of golf. We were able to play 18 holes in three hours and 15 minutes. The course was in great shape and the staff could not have been friendlier. Overall we had an outstanding time.
Crispy
Dried out, burned up. Maybe we'll try it again later this Fall.
Very Poor Conditions
I don't like to knock on State Park golf courses but this course has been very nice in the past. Not totally faulting the maintenance leaders as it has been very dry. But this course would be better suited shut down for a couple of months and let some mother nature do some healing. BARE are the tee boxes, very poor fairways and rock around all edges of fairway.
Greens were OK, good for them.
It is not worth paying any amount of money to play here right now.
This is a beautiful course
It was a busy day with a lot of players on the course. The extremely dry weather left the course very rigid. The greens were fast but in pretty good shape.
Good course
Well the course is playable the ball runs another 50 yards because of dry conditions sometimes it’s good sometimes bad going OB but needs water bad I can mayb c after all this heat mayb unplayable without proper water
Nice course
Course is not long but challenging. Greens were like putting on hardwood, just really fast. Overall, great experience at the course.
Best Value in Nashville Area
This golf course, for the money is the best value in the Greater Nashville area. It is subsidized by the County, so, this savings translates to the golfer. Fairway to green, you are playing a private country club level course. Very wide and open, greens are great... beautiful scenic golf course located in a large park.
Not a happy camper
Horrible experience - would like to share with someone of authority - thanks
Rough
I was very disappointed in the overall condition of the course. Other than the greens, the place is a mess. I think we counted one tee box with grass on it.
Pretty rough shape..3hrs for 9 holes
Staff is nice. About the only thing I can say about it. Drove from Nashville (45min)out to this course in the country. Once I saw the driving range. I knew we were in trouble. After the first hole we waited about 5-10 minutes per hole...alot of doubles and singles playing. After nine holes and seeing that there were 3 groups waiting to take the turn, decided it wasn't even worth getting a rain check. Will never be back..
