Bountiful Ridge Golf Course

About
Overlooking the entire Salt Lake Valley and the Great Salt Lake, Bountiful Ridge Golf Course offers spectacular views in addition to a challenging, mountain-style layout. Locals consider it one of the best courses in Utah. The course features large greens that are fast and tight fairways that are lined with trees. Ponds create water hazards that come into play on six holes. There are also several strategically placed bunkers throughout the course. The course has many notable holes including the eighth, ninth, and 18th, which all have large rock features. Although the course is a fun challenge most players remember the beautiful scenery at Bountiful Ridge Golf Course.

Outstanding experience all around
Cannot express enough how please we were with our experience here! Every single person we encountered working for the course was friendly, kind, and made our trip. We were late flying in from DFW and therefore late for our round by about half an hour. Had a friend call the course for us while we were in flight to see if they’d still let us play as I know they were packed all day. Mike in the clubhouse could not have been nicer and more accommodating. He let us store our luggage in his office, had our rentals ready for us, and led us to the hole our other pair were already on so we only missed first three holes. This for us was a big win! The course was STUNNING and definitely in my top ten courses played. The views are amazing. The grounds well taken care of. Easy fairways to manage as not a ton of out of bounds which is nice. The greens definitely move more than I’m used to being from TX! The Marshall was so fun and on top of the pace of play which was nice. I love when a Marshall loves his job, makes it fun, and keeps us moving along fairly. Then after the awesome round the clubhouse girl was so friendly and happy we could make it even with the delays and excited we had a great time. Cherry on top was the cafe who had the best homemade banana bread along with a killer grilled cheese! Raving reviews all the way around! Highly recommended! Thank you for starting our first trip to Utah out with a bang!
Views for Days
I was paired with a family for the back 9 so the round was slow and we barely beat the sunset, but still a nice day. Trees lining most fairways. Greens rolled well. Fairways in good shape. Great views of the valley on almost all holes.
Bountiful Ridge
Excellent course...good value and staff keeps course in very good shape.
18 Beautiful Holes
This is an amazing golf course in an amazing setting. The course is usually in great condition and each hole is uniquely beautiful. Challenging holes, but not so difficult that it's not enjoyable for any skill level. You will almost certainly run into some deer on the course. If you can, I would definitely play it in the fall when the leaves are turning.
Scenic and challenging mountainside course
Happened to be in Salt Lake City on a business trip with an extra day to kill, so I showed up here early in the morning as a single. The staff were super friendly, setting my expectations about how soon I might get out, setting me up with a set of rental clubs, and then getting me out within 15 minutes or so after a cancellation.
Despite being pretty booked up, the pace of play was great, we didn't really have to wait much on the group in front and we were never being chased by the group behind. The course conditions for August in the desert were splendid, lush green grass from tee boxes to fairways to greens. The layout is interesting, with plenty of elevation changes and a few doglegs, plus some long par-3s even from the regular men's tees.
Built on the side of the mountain ridge, this course has some spectacular views of the valley below and the mountains above. Saw a few deer out early in the morning before the sun got too high. Overall, this was a gem of a public course, convenient to Salt Lake City, and a must-play if you're in the area.
Great Course
Played this course many times over the years. - Highly recommend. Always seems to be in very good condition. The course has a lot of variety, greens are large so easy to three putt. Not a long course, my view is best played from the tips, especially #11 which sits high above the fairway. Has a great finishing hole. If you need a practice facility this is not your course. No driving range - you can hit balls into a net. They do have a practice putting green. If you want an enjoyable round of golf this is a great course to play. Sometimes it can be a little slow on the first 4 or 5 holes but usually picks up after that.
Top 5 Public Course in Utah
Great layout, good pace, great conditions, beautiful views on course set on top of ridge in Bountiful overlooking Salt Lake. Wildlife often seen on course. Mature trees, and lots of texture. Walkable. One of the great finishing holes in Utah.
Bountiful's AMEN corner
Arrived at the course after 4:00pm local time. Played a full 18 - riding - and done well before 7:00pm. Granted, it's a Sunday in Utah, but I was literally the only one on the course after 5:00.
Welcoming and professional staff! Pro shop is stocked and affordable. The first tee shot prepares you for what you should expect for your entire round - amazing views, well-manicured fairways and surprisingly receptive and fast greens. The rough is not extremely punitive, but expect flyer lies and aim short of the hole if your drive lands in the long stuff.
The back nine is where this local favorite earns its' reputation. After a quick ride through the tunnel beneath Bountiful Blvd, your tee shot (I took two, one from the back tees and a second from the whites) should favor a fade to a fairway that has panoramic views of The Great Salt Lake. Majestic!
The 10th hole begins Bountiful's AMEN corner - there are 3 holes above the road that make this course worthy of a visit to all golfers visitng SLC. The 11th is incredible, especially from the back tees. Grab your camera and set it for panoramic. Placement is more valuable than distance here - find the fairway and the green is yours. The 12th turns you back down the mountain before crossing the road to finish on the main track.
Things you'll see - The Great Salt Lake; Panoramic views on North SLC; Antelope Island; Deer...lots and lots and lots of deer - they are not afraid. Also, I took a cart, but this course is walk-able...for the fit. There is sufficient elevation change to make this demanding if you're less than healthy (carts are gas-powered).
I did not use the practice facilities and hit the first tee directly - I hope to provide feedback on the practice / putting area and food / beverage service on a subsequent visit.
Fun, walkable course
Very nice little course tucked into the hillside. Some really fun holes with elevation changes. Bit on the short side, but blues were long enough to be fun. Holes on the other side of the road were excellent as well as 18. Lots of walkers in the afternoon, but they were very courteous and let me blast through. Finished my round in 2:10 to just beat a big storm.
Amazing Views
I am from Minnesota and took a client out for golf. This course was in amazing shape! As a visitor it was really difficult to read the greens. The pro at the desk did say that all the balls will roll towards the lake but they don't tell you that it does a ton. An up hill view rolls down towards the lake... No joke!
Local favorite
This course is our augusta national for salt lake and surrounding areas. Sits high up on the bench with amazing views of the valley and great salt lake. Not overly long it's like 6600 yds from the back tees, where this course shines is on the greens. I've played here thousands of times it's home to my only hole in one on #2. It's always in unreal shape you will never get a truer role than on these greens, super fast. Kind of hard to get to.
outstanding course
Bountiful ridge is one of the best courses in northern utah. It as some of the best views and staff around. The only down fall is they bunch groups up so close to each other 18 holes can take awhile to play.
Course Review
I wish I could play this course more often. The price and lack of discounts are the only things keeping me from doing so. Great view of Salt Lake. Wildlife on course, great layout.
