About
Mentel Memorial Golf Course is one of seven municipal courses in the Columbus area. It underwent a major renovation in 2001 that gave it a new name, updated layout, and a new clubhouse. Although it is sometimes overshadowed by two of the city's more popular municipal courses, Champions and Raymond Memorial, it stands out for its meticulous maintenance. The fairways are well manicured and the rough is well defined. The gently undulating, easy-to-read greens also putt fast and true. There are three lakes that come into play on six holes and more than 40 strategically placed bunkers. Trees are present throughout the golf course, but they sometimes work in your favor by helping to block the constant winds. The sixth is one of the most notable holes at Mentel Memorial, demanding a lengthy drive over a hill.

Great Course
Course was in great condition as always. I love this track. I don't hit the ball too far, but I keep it in play, and the white tees allow me to score fairly unlike longer courses. Nothing to complain about here except for players not fixing their ball marks, but that's not the course's fault
A well designed and maintained public course
Been playing this course for 20+ years but not much in the last 5 years or so. Conditions are very good, greens rolled well and were in great shape. Fairways were very wet and playing cart path only, which is very appreciable, but they were in great shape. Looks like the conditions have greatly improved from last memory of this place. Staff - not overtly friendly like some other Columbus courses, but I don’t play golf for the course staff either. Great shape for a December round of golf in this area, I would highly recommend if you are looking to challenge your game and want to use all of the clubs in your bag. This course plays long regardless of the tees you play and 6600 yards in December is a tall order for this weekend warrior.
Mentel - best city course!! even in the cold!
AWESOME course - but the $36 price for DECEMBER was crazy high for an empty day.
Rude worker didn't ruin my round
This was my first time playing Mentel and I had a bad feeling after walking in to pay but was pleasantly surprised once I actually got out there. Some Ed Orgeron-looking m-f'er at the front desk was rude as could be. Made it seem like I was interrupting his busy day and gave me static about having my cart returned by 5pm (it was a 9-hole round at 2 pm).
Had no contact with a starter or ranger at any point but course was pretty easy. Playing in early December, you can't expect pristine conditions but there was a plethora of goose poop around the greens and leaves all over everywhere, making ball-hunting pretty tough off the fairway.
Still, I had no issues with pace and had a great time actually playing a quiet round of golf. Other players I came across all seemed nice, which is pretty rare. But unfortunately rude guys at the front desk is pretty common in my experience playing golf. It's a shame because this is a great game.
Horrible and overbooked
I’ve played here twice and both times we left after around 11 holes. The course books a tee time every 2 minutes which makes for a horrible day. 11 holes took us 3 hours. For 2 of us. You will wait 15 minutes on every hole because it is so backed up and overbooked. Horrible experience both times and a waste of money and a 30 min drive.
Avoid Unless You Want Six Hour Round
Walked off course after first few holes took more than two hours. I’ve never seen a pace of play this slow. Every time we walked up to the next tee - both of the groups in front of us were still waiting to tee off.
Great shape and friendly staff
Course was in excellent shape, Bunkers all playable and greens near flawless. My online tee time didn’t go through and they were more than accommodating. Pace of play was good for a twosome on a Sunday morning. Have fun and stay out of the trees!

It was good enough with my friend but rental club was old club like more than 15yr’s old.
I hope to visit mentel memorial again!!

Had never played here before and was pleasantly delighted with everything. Course was in immaculate conditions, staff was very friendly. Highly recommend

Been playing here for a long time and has always been in great shape. I would say one of the top municipal courses in this area. Will always come back here
