Love the layout
I played Woodlawn even though it was supposed to be Gunston. 🤷♂️ The leaves on the fairways and greens were horrible on holes # 1,3,4,7. Totally unplayable! When I made the tee time I had visions of years past, but hoped it would be better this time - not! I lost 2 balls on #3, 1 each on #’s 4&5. And all were hit on the fairway or just a foot or two into the rough off the fairway. I wouldn’t waste my $$ on the Belvoir courses until Fall is far in the rear view mirror. Aside from this, the greens that were clean of leaves were beautiful!
New Golfer
Excellent challenging course. Played Woodlawn and it was in great shape. Holes are wide but challenging. I enjoyed it on a hot day.
Review of Ft. Belvoir, Gunston course
Bunkers were inconsistent, with some having no sand. Golf course was very hilly, which was fine. Greens were in decent, but not great, condition. Fairways were a bit dry; not sure if they have irrigation. Most of the tees were not level and had little or no grass. I played as a single and had no one ahead of me the entire round, so I have no complaints about the pace of play. I played with one of the Golfnow $30 discount rounds and consider the experience to be a good value, at that price. Warning: the golf course in on the Ft. Belvoir post, so you have to stop at the main gate visitor's center to obtain a pass that is good for six weeks. You should allow an extra 30 minutes to do this. I almost missed my tee time.
Always a great round at Ft Belvoir!!
still a beginner so I have no idea how to actually rate the course conditions. But the day was absolutely picture perfect and we always top a round at the grill. Drinks by Dawn are always perfect!!! and so is the food!!
Access dnied
We had no acces to the golfcourse, beceause we had no US-Army-Id. We are visitors from Switzerland.
Access was denied!
So we could not play the Fort Belvoir golfcourse.
So we expect from you NO CHARGE on my Visa Card account!

To begin, the staff attempted not to honor the GolfNow rates. Blaming GolfNow, the staff member stated that they only honor the 1150 tee time reservation and that all other reservations were not valid. However, after some discussion, the staff member honored the price booked through the app, though the staff member was clearly angry with the situation. Not that bad of a situation when you consider I got the price I wanted, but that was only the beginning of my trouble on the course. The staff failed to mention that they just aired the greens and heavily, and I mean heavily sanded them. There were a few greens that might as well had been bunkers.
Additionally, pace of play was abysmal. Belvoir has two courses, however, only one was open due to maintenance and the staff decided that the day in which the course was operating at half capacity, it would be a great day to hold a scramble event for seasoned golfers. I was unable to finish my round, after four and a half hours, I retired on the 15th hole. Everything was poorly managed and if you are gonna attempt to charge competitive pricing then management needs to step up their game.
Second Best Round Ever
This is the first time I played a round and did not lose a ball or incur a penalty. The course was wet, no one in front of me or behind me and cart path only. I had an opportunity to work on some shots I would need throughout my round. The only problem was some of the greens were slightly damaged and I needed to move my ball. All in all, it was a good round.
