Turnberry Golf Course

About
Situated in a lush valley bordering Blacklick Creek, Turnberry Golf Course is tucked away amidst mature forests and high fescue grasses. The course is one of seven municipal courses in the Columbus area. It has an unexpected location, which has added to its allure of being one of central Ohio's better-kept secrets. Arthur Hills designed the links-style, championship layout. At just over 6,700 yards from the back tees, this lengthy golf course tumbles across varying elevations. A cart would be best on this course. The front nine is more wooded but there is more water coming into play on the back nine. Strategically placed bunkers pose a formidable challenge throughout Turnberry, as do the fescue-lined fairways. On each hole, golfers face a tricky second shot to a small, elevated green.

not good overall
lots of trash around. not a clean facility.
halfway house needs remodeled.
cart paths in bad condition.
carts were dirty.
course was in good playable condition.
golf now is deceive
Booked on line, thought is was through tee off, now I know they are the same as golf now and for the second time this year was swindled by them, they booked 2 different tee times, I only made 1 and only agreed to 1 tee off time, was changed by them anyway and there was no where on the conformation page to contact them tried to replay e-mail failed.
First timer
It rained tons the day before so rating is based on that. The greens were nicely sized and challenging. Fairways on good shape. I played from the whites cuz my group wanted to so it made for a much shorter course for me but I enjoyed the numerous dog legs. I’ll definitely play here again
Today was an exceptional day to play. Staff and customers were all friendly.
Great day of golf
Good course in really good shape. Greens held very good and the pace of play was very good
Get back to the way it used to be.
Good fun course. That said over last couple years the little things are gone. The nice manicure, the extra foliage and flowers and colors are gone and it's just kinda bland over last 2 years. I've played this course for 20 plus years and disappointed in some regards considering the price to play a city/metro course. As well pace of play and lack of other amenities doesn't justify prices at this moment. Layout fun.....management needs to get together.
Dig it
Will DEFINITELY go back. Can't wait to see how it plays mid summer. I live in Victorian Village and for how close it is to me , probably one of the best public courses.
Not What it Used to Be
This course in the 90's was the premier course on the East side of Columbus. Not so much anymore. Overpriced, slow, and the rough is 6 different kinds of grass. You go from no cut grass to medium cut, to "looks like it has never been cut" in the same line of rough. The staff is super unfriendly....they act like they are private course. Kind of sad given what it used to be. Tried it twice this year, won't go back anymore, which stinks because it is near my home.
A solid golf experience
We're repeat players, so that says something...
The clubhouse itself isn't all that great, but we go for the golf...
The links-style course is fun but can be pretty tricky when they let the rough grow, esp the hazard areas...
Greens we're in pretty good shape for March
We'll continue to include turnberry in our course rotation
Turnberry
Course for being March 31st in Ohio was in very good condition even after a lot of rain the day before. Staff as always was very accommodating.
