farewell old friend
wanted to play one more time, thanks for 40 years of memories. where are seniors like me going to go play now ? nothing fancy, someplace where you could hop on and go. it will be missed
last round
for late october, the course closing at the end of the month, the greens were excellent on the back nine. enjoyed and hope to play once more before november 1.
Sad conditions
Definitely let this course go, I understand they are closing BUT….
I played a couple days ago, and in reaching for my ball in the hole, when I pulled my hand out, the Flag was torn to shreds and sliced my finger open. I called the clubhouse and hopefully they immediately switched it out 👌🏻
BowCreek GC
I am greatly disappointed to find out recently that the city of Virginia Beach has decided to close this well managed course at the end of October 2022. It is so conveniently placed within the city and good on the budget for the beginning golfer. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. The course itself is a mixture of easy to challenging holes. I will greatly miss playing here weekly.

absolutely no maintenance donjon this course. Horrible condition.
City converting this course to a park/multipurpose space I believe later this year. Greens are busted, fairways an unkept and bunkers are stone. Worst condition I’ve seen it ever and staff has gotten considerably less friendly. Avoid at all cost.

backed up bow creek
i rarely ride but did so yesterday. pace pf play was fine until the back 9. totally stopped after 13 waiting to get going again. a high school match was going on and slow players were not letting faster players play through. all that. being said i've played there since 82 and hope they keep it open through october. haven't seen it backed up like that for some time now.

Terrible
There are no fairways, the grass in the fairway is 6-8 inches tall. Greens had tractor tire marks in every one of them. Bunkers had grass growing in them. Don’t play here it’s a terrible waste of time!

Good value
The greens are nice on this course and consistent speed , I like to lay out there is a couple spots on the course where if you hit in the fairway you may end up on some hard pan which is disappointing but there's only a couple holes like that the cause is there tight fairways and the trees blocked the Sun out and those areas . It's a municipal course and I've played it for years and still enjoy it .
Good Value for the Money
Bow Creek is basically a neighborhood golf course that was modified back in the 1990’s to address some drainage problems in the area. Those changes made some of the holes a bit cramped with additional par 3’s, but even so it is a fun course and has it’s challenges. With reasonable green fees, it’s a nice surprise for many and while I hadn’t played there in a couple of years, it was nice to play it again. Worth your time to try it.
