The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie - The Links

About
The Golf Club at Hawk's Prairie offers two 18-hole courses, the Links and the Woodlands. Located just a few miles north of Olympia in Lacey, Washington, the club is one of the best golf values in the South Sound. The Links Course joined the original 18 holes in 1999, providing a stark contrast to the aptly named Woodlands Course. The classic Scottish-links design features open fairways and undulating greens. The layout sprawls north towards the mouth of the Puget Sound. There are some rolling hills but the course is still a nice walk, especially with the views of Mount Rainier along the way. You'll encounter numerous bunkers strategically placed throughout and water hazards come into play on half of the holes. It's a challenging but fair golf course with five sets of tees making it playable for all skill levels.

Dynamic Pricing versus winter conditions
the cost of playing The Links did not equate with the conditions of the golf course. It appeared the greens had not been mowed recently, bunkers were not raked, and did not see any grounds crew anywhere on the course. I understand the fact that it is still winter conditions for the most part, but when I entered the pro shop I was fortunate that I had a military ID, otherwise I would have paid 54.00 to play. The lock on the men's bathroom on hole 13 on the Links is broken. Passed on to the Pro Shop, they already knew it was broken. No garbage cans on the course still, despite covid being over.
Lot of fun
Cool linksish course that meanders through a development. Staff is great. Course was in good shape with all the rain we have been getting. Traps need cleaning and the greens did not always roll well. I enjoy the course but wish it was a links course with no houses.
Good course
Everything about this course is really good but the pacw of the play
Enjoyable Course to Play
I played at the Links today and weather was mild and sunny. Course wasn't too wet, and greens in great shape. I always enjoy playing this course, but today was especially nice with no wind, great pace of play and course in good condition.
Nice course. Very wet conditions.
Very wet conditions. Easy to ground your club. My ball plopped and stuck into the mud several times. My feet were wet at the end of the 1st nine. I like this course a lot. Surprised it was this wet and muddy.
Cloudy day
Played backwards starting on 10? Not sure why just seemed odd. Bunkers well kept and good sand. Rough quite high in places an some fairways need cutting. Enjoyed it a lot so next time here would play again.
5 plus hour round
Haven’t played this course in a few years. Good track and challenging layout. Course was in Ok condition. Definitely a good price for the caliber of the course. Unless they do a better job on pace of play, I won’t be back. 2 hours 40 minutes to complete front nine. Decided to leave after nine because I thought the days of 5 plus hour rounds were gone. Hopefully, this was an exception for them.
