Opened in 1931, Brookdale Golf Course has a classic design that has hosted generations of local golfers. The course features large, undulating greens and wide, rolling fairways lined with old-growth firs. The player-friendly layout is ideal for beginners with wide, open fairways and generous landing areas, but there are still challenges in store on the greens, which are bordered by thick rough and strategically placed bunkers. There are several interesting holes with downhill approaches to the green. It may not be what you're looking for if you want a truly formidable test, but Brookdale is a fun and forgiving golf course where high handicappers can build their confidence. Located just 20 minutes south of Tacoma, it is one of the most affordable rounds in the area.

Course is CLOSING
Played this course Many times over the years, Now I learned it is closing down. It would have been nice to know this PRIOR to booking. No power carts available. No tee box markers. sporadic yardage markers, and NO BAR< LOUNGE< OR KITCHEN> Everything is closed except proshop, which is still charging full fee. It is sad to see this course go.
Never Played a course I felt more at home at
The day I learned they were selling this historic landmark it was like I had been kicked in the solarplexius. I've played this course 86 times from 1/18/16 until they closed. I hope someday to find a course that makes me feel as good about playing a round as this one did.
Still in mourning........
We’ll miss this course.
Once again another course is going to the bull-dozer. On Sunday this week the course is closing for the last time.
We have had many great and enjoyable rounds on this course. At a great value, and we’ll miss it.

Course is closing in two weeks, sad to see it happen.

FYI this course is going to close in the near future! We wanting to rent a cart but none were available!
The course is in very good shape for January. I would highly recommend playing the course before it sell for development.
Fun day
Nice day at the course. Playing conditions were good considering the course is closing soon. Recent storm had lots of branches down under the trees but fairways and greens were good. Restaurant is closed. Staff is very friendly.

It’s a shame this course will be closing in a few months. Recommend playing before it closes. Great round for the value$$$$.
Late season round
The Hot Deal was great value. Beautiful day midweek. The course has been there since 1931 and will not be around much longer as it is being sold, rumored to be to a developer.
CHECK THE WEATHER
If there is any chance of sunshine the course is going to be packed out. Be patient and plan for delays.
Another course bites the dust......
So sad to learn that Brookdale Golf Course will be closing its doors for business early next year. It's been a good track and will be missed....
Terrible
This course has thrown in the towel they are selling the land and it shows they do not care about up keep
Decent course, HORRIBLE...
Bathrooms!!! Hands down the most disgusting bathrooms Ive ever used at a course. They have a port-a-potty near the practice greens and I opted for that to change my shirts after 9. Couldnt even stand to be in the filth of that bathroom for minute!!! YUCK!!!!
Slow play
We had a tee time at 12:30 on Friday. The course was pretty full. The twosome that was 2 head of us would take 2 or 3 balls on the tee. The foursome directly I, front of us, also walk I,g,wouldn't hit until the twosome walked off the green. These were not long hitters, and not straight. Made for very slow play. Brookdale needs a Marshall out on the course to speed up play. "While we're Young".
Nice Course
This is a great course to play. Nice long open fairways with not many hazards. If you have a long straight T shot you will be on in two most of the par 4's. Most of the par 3's you will be able to be on in one. Some air force jet noise and neighborhood noise on a few holes. We walked the 18 in just over 3.5 hours and could have done it faster if the two some in front of us was not slowing play down on the last 6 holes. I would recommend this course to anyone looking for a relaxing but challenging golf outing.
Summer time golf.
The course is in good shape, considering the heat and minimal maintenance.
Sunny day golfing
Nice day of golfing. Back side was much faster after passing 5 some in front of us the first 9. Greens were good, but some if the fairways were really dry. But, it has been really hot the last few weeks.
