Fun Layout, Good Choice in Sutherlin
Played and walked on a hot 90+ degree sunny day, was an extra tough workout with some serious hills and elevation changes. They did not have a push cart to rent as probably most ride in a cart, makes sense. Enjoyed the course layout and configuration except some of the homes were a tad too close for comfort even for a straight shooter, and made me rethink trying to bomb some drives in fear of causing damage for even a little bit offline shot. They have a driving range that needs some TLC but is functional. Putting green and pitching area right near 1st and 10th tees. The course is part of and adjacent to an RV park so would be ideal for a traveling RV golfer! I don't think there are many other 18-hole golf choices in Sutherlin area so probably the best bet for golf in the immediate area.
Nice day course needs some attention
This course has a few holes that really need to be changed.
They make it too difficult to play for the average golfer.
Vehicles drive through the course.
Houses all over and in bad locations.
Great vistas, tight holes, lots of hills
Suprisingly great. Very tough but not unfair. Easy to get in trouble. Vistas are beautiful. Greens were in great shape.
Umpqua golf resort
The course is in good shape and provide lots of challenges, with the elevated greens and norrow greens. Fun golf course to play anytime.
A great course to improve your game.
This course with it's many hills, trees, water hazards and beautiful scenery make it a perfect course to challenge the average golfer. If your shots are not perfect you can expect to use almost every club in your bag during your outing and will have ample opportunities to utilize all types of shots. With good drainage it offers a very playable course all year long, with different characteristics depending on the time of year. It is the type of course where you can play well one day and it will tear you up the next, because of the varied terrain. Overall it is a GREAT VALUE for the golfer looking for a challenging course at a good price.
had a good friday and golf game
had a good time for the money for the money i spent worth the stop on the golf now site
Great value
This is a great course. played on Oct. 26 and the greens were excellent. lost a few plugged balls in the rough that I thought were ok but that is to be expected on a course that is built on this kind of terrain. this a great track and I would recommend it to everyone who wants to play a course with character. Only knock is that I played with my wife who enjoyed the course but we found that the 2 silver tee makers were abit confusing. would suggest fewer tee makers. will definately play again if in area again.
a challenge
We had a great time & enjoyed playing here for the first time. Staff was very good. will go back
Great course and value right next to I-5 that most golfers don't even know exist.
Umpqua Resort is 4 out of 5 stars at a two star price. I played all over Central Oregon, the Valley and the Coast this year and not many of the high end courses are in better condition and as demanding. Umpqua Resort can be a ball eater but is still fun to play especially when you get the Hot Deal tee times for around $11.00 walking rate. The course is very playable year round and stays dry in the winter months. The greens are always in excellent conditions. The only problem is the geese. Sometimes you can't walk down the middle of a fairway it gets so bad. Other times you can't even tell a goose was there. If you play this course you will not be disappointed and if you get a chance play it four or five times then you will know how great a course it is.
