RiverEdge Golf Course

About
River Edge Golf Course in Marshfield, Wis. is one of the most affordable rounds in the area. Opened in 1967, the course has a more traditional layout that is shorter than modern courses at 6,545 yards from the back tees. It's player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. Beginners can take on the golf course with confidence since it's not overly formidable, but it still provides some good practice. The terrain is mostly flat with a few subtle contours that can be tricky. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are also a few strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. Besides the wallet-friendly rates and the player-friendly design, the restaurant at River Edge G.C. is known for its popular Friday night fish fry.

Surprised
I have played course many times, they must have had a rough winter greens had a lot of dead spots. That said the rest of greens were smooth and fast. Fairways were a little long I think they are protecting from burnout due to lack of rain
Nice course and well maintained.
My buddy and I were the slowest people on the course because we walked and those in carts were very polite about passing us and leaving us in the dust. We played the senior tees which shorten the course considerably. Sand traps seemed a little "heavy" but I was only in one once. Greens were cut short, firm, and extremely fast but true to reads. Putting downhill was a challenge but the greens were not too undulating.
Great Golf Course!!!
The course is set up nicely and very well maintained. I have to get used to the varying pin settings, but overall a great time. I love the challenge of the course as well.
Solid public course
Impressive course that is public. Greens roll true and fairways are crisp and nice.
This course is fun to play
The course is very nice .they could take a look at the tee boxes they could use a little help.overall great course.
Greens still recovering
The par fours are longer than I am used to playing (several over 400 yards) which called for long drives and long approach shots to green moderately guarded by bunkers. This old growth course also calls for well placed tee shots. Some of the holes were severe doglegs which called for placing shots instead of just hammering a driver. The water is well placed and affects shot placement as well. The only drawback this season is that the winter was so severe in this area that the greens have had a hard time recovering. We compromised and dictated to each other that we would not count more than two putts per green. We played on a Friday morning. One twosome was ahead of us but they let us play through with a wave and a smile.
Terrible greens
The greens are in terrible shape. Only one green was actually puttable. Very expensive place and the course is in bad shape.
greens in ruogh shape
most greens in bad shape, if you can enjoy a good layout course using a 2 put rule good value , if you need greens to be happy forget it.
Alright I guess
Course is in rough shape. The greens were half dead making putting tough. There were 3 of 18 holes with reasonable greens. Fairways were alright. It seems to me that with all the water there should be no problem keeping the greens decent.
It was cheap so I’m not really complaining, the greens were just in laughably bad condition.
