Hilly Course with Interesting Greens
Course is built on some very hilly terrain (at least the back half). Greens appear to be original built-up greens from the 20's and have a lot of character. The hilly terrain leads to several unique and interesting tee shots.
Great day
This is a nice little course with a layout that is appropriately challenging for players at the beginner and intermediate level.
Quail Run golf course
Short but challenging. Nine holes that require straight shots and enough distance to avoid trouble..
Excellent discovery in Southwest Wisconsin!
The course has been taken great care of, the grass is in great shape (there were a couple of greens that had some overseeding but whatever was wrong appeared to be very much under control).
I enjoyed this little 9 hole course a great deal, extremely challenging on a couple of holes and a nice level of forgiveness after one of those had kicked you. I played 18 (i.e. two laps of the 9-hole course) and enjoyed it a great deal.
I was led into a false sense of security after the first 2 holes, starting at the 3rd, things got a bit harder. The 4th...whew! THAT is gonna take a few more rounds to score par...but it was a great day.
I highly recommend it..
Complete Lack of Professionalism
A group of SEVEN teed off ahead of us at our assigned tee time. When I went to discuss it and ask to have them break up into proper groups I was blown off and sneered at. I even had sarcastic remarks made back at me. That made a bad situation even worse.
Was actually told they were good people and they would let us through, but they never did. Other groups were going to any hole they found open, making a completely ridiculous condition. It took us 3 1/2 hours to do just 9 holes.
Will not be back unless there is a serious change of attitude and a willingness to follow the rules of golf. The place is for sale and I hope new owners make it what it should be.
