Reviews
Rude staff
Very room and unaccommodating staff. Will not be returning .
Very good state park golf course
This course is in very good condition, was enjoyable to play, and is a great value. I was staying in the campground so it was very convenient. I played as a single and the starter got me going very quickly.
Not too bad
First thing I will say is that this is the easiest course to walk in the area. Tee's are close to the greens and its relatively flat throughout. I may tend to play here more just because of that. Hardly any bad lies in the fairways, but the layout is pretty bland with the exception of a few holes. The greens are terribly slow and grainy. Could use a good verticut.
However, if you're just looking to get some practice in the value is good. They have a nice inexpensive range and the walking rates are a good value. You do have to pay to get on state park grounds, but if you save your receipt you won't have to pay the next time.
Very enjoyable
I enjoy walking this course. I usually arrive and practice for about an hour. It has a excellent driving range. You can get 15 balls for $1.00 from the machine. The putting and chipping greens are good. The practice sand trap is always clean.
The food is good. Especially the hamburger! The staff is friendly. They recently got a few new carts if you want to ride.
Second time playing this course. Greens need some TLC; some had bald patches. Several holes had tire tracks where it looked like some people went “mudding” . Will definitely be back later in the season.
Great value
Great place to play for the average golfer. The weather is a little too wet to really enjoy this course right now. When the weather gets better this is an excellent course and an excellent value/
Great course for the price
Oak Mountain is always a fun course to play. In the middle of a state park it is pretty scenic. The course is always kept nice and for the most part the greens are nice too. Just inconsistent speeds. My only issue is the driving range. It is aweful.. not a good lie on the whole thing. But compared to other courses in that price range Oak Mountain is well worth the trip.
Fun Course, Great Value!
I was paired up with a couple of people since I booked through GolfNow, but that was fine. Relatively flat course, pretty challenging! My only complaint was the greens had leaves all over them, but that’s what I get for playing golf in November.
In great shape
Haven’t played course in over a year. It was terrible a year ago. Played in a scramble tourney over the weekend and was extremely impressed. Iv been back three times since. Coarse is in great shape and new pro shop employees are super nice. Becoming my hidden secret.
Economical Round
Course was in good shape. Greens were a little bumpy and very slow compared to most local courses I play.

Best fairways I have played on this year.
Course was in great shape, very few bad lies in the fairways.
