Nemacolin Woodlands Resort - Links Course

All in all this is a course you should play at least once. The proshop staff didn't make you feel welcome. But the club house was very very nice. The only issue we had was a pair just cut in front of us on the 14th hole. They didn't ask which caused us to finish the last hole in the dark. The ranger lied after I called the hotel, and said they had the tee time before us. We never passed any one even at the turn. So instead of making those 2 step to the side he lied.

We arrived early to enjoy the wonderful practice facility there. Our tee time was about 20 minutes late due to morning fog.
We were playing in a group that got a package through the resort.

The GPS on the carts is a necessity here but i found that the audio tips that occur from theGPS when you are on the tee can be annoying when at the tee and can actually delay play.

The greens were in nice shape and were not overly speedy, probably about a 10. The bunkers were very playable and as usual watch out for those Pete Dye Holes in front of the pin placement.

The front 9 took 2 hours 40 minutes with a lot of waiting, we were approached by a ranger who told us he was going to find who was causing the slow play and that we should keep pace. Only to find that when we got to the 10th tee half the foursome in front of us was not there yet.

Anyway the round took over 5 hours. But the layout is great. Looking to return this fall but I have not seen many weekend times on Golfnow.

First of golfnow customer service was able to resolve the booking issue when trying online and they were great. The course itself is amazing and talking about The Links not Mystic Rock. The scenic view on each hole makes your round exciting and felt like a getaway. You can see most of the resort throughout the course (i.e. petting zoo, lake, mystic rock). First thing you notice is when you approach the clubhouse the attendant takes your bag and places them in a cart for you to just get on the course once you checked in. This is unique for courses I have played before. Anyway the only downside was it poured 2 days prior and some spots were pretty bad and the ball plugged. Also maybe about 2 holes you kinda guess where to hit the ball, the thing that did help was the carts had GPS and a flyover on the screen for every hole. Hope this helps!

Great course at a great value. Highly recommend! Can't wait to play again.

Beautiful layout pristine condition. Fastest greens i have ever played! Very challenging and will be penalized heavily for any wayward shot! Pace of play was slow at a little over 4.5hrs other than that its a must play for any avid golfers! High handicaps get ready for a long day!!

The course was in good shape but because of all the rain in the area the fairways were soaked. For 23 dollars it was a fair deal

Round was over 5 hours. Way too long given there are forecaddies.
