Sandy Creek Golf Course

About
Sandy Creek Golf Course in Monroe, Michigan is one of the area's most popular public courses. With weekend walking rates less than $30, it's also one of the most affordable rounds you'll find. The pretty landscaping and meticulous conditioning of the layout nearly mask the terrain's former use as farmland. The century-old oak and maple trees that frame many of the holes add to the course's beauty while also demanding accuracy. Several ponds and a meandering creek come into play on six holes and you'll also find wetlands and marshes along the perimeters. The bunkering is sparse but strategically placed along the greensides and bordering the landing zones. The golf course finishes with a hole that is both scenic and challenging. The tee shot will have to clear the creek to make it to the undulating green that sits right in front of the Sandy Creek clubhouse.

Excellent
Very well maintained course. friendly staff..The best in Monroe county
Great Course!
I've played this course a handful of times now and I love it Everytime. The greens and fairways are well taken care of. No houses around anywhere because its surrounded by sod farm. I personally don't like playing around houses because my ball seems to be drawn to them. Clubhouse is pretty standard. Good food there and the staff all around is awesome. If I still lived in Michigan I would love to have a membership here because I thoroughly enjoy playing it. Highly recommend this course.
Good Course but...
I liked the course. It’s a good challenge fm the blues and it was in nice shape. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
It was also a good deal as I got a hot deal for just $18.
My only criticism, and I’m not sure if it’s because the Course is in a rural area, or possibly due to the lack of marshalling, was the pace of play. I was waiting on every shot. One group of 3 senior men were kind enough to let me play thru. I was still waiting on every shot behind 2 women. It would’ve/should’ve been fine but 1 lady hit 2 balls every time and was very slow!? Hard to play relaxed behind ignorant people like that. The course needs Marshalls, definitely, when they’re busy. I probably won’t go back. Too bad because it’s not a bad course. Maybe that’s why it’s a good deal.
Will not play again!
Course in poor shape, some parts marshy, others try. Rough was wet and high. Carts was spotty, difficult starting then racing. Attentants were not very helpful. Did have nice sandwich at break.
Excellent course for every level
Great course for every level of golfer friendly staff
Great course
I love this course and the staff . The course is in great shape concerning we haven't had any rain . Sandy Creek is one of my favorite public courses in my area
Great staff
This course is well maintained. The staff is always courteous and friendly.
Great course
The course if fair but the ruff is very punishing so you better keep it in the fairway
Great track.
Staff: Very friendly and accommodating.
Course: In Great Shape. Greens are medium speed. Score card may make the course look easy but it is a challenging course. Well stocked pro shop. Grsat food and drinks. One very minor complaint is the second cut is a little long.( Hard to find your ball just off the edge of fairway) Book Sandy Creek and you will not be disappointed.
Worth a round or two.
First let me say that this course is usually in good shape, but we have had a very long winter and until this week it was basically too cold and wet to play golf in our area. With that said conditions were basically like early spring. The layout of the course is fun, fair, and challenging. Most holes have some dogleg and between the partial trees and the few water/swamp areas it makes a good course for low handicap players as well as less experienced golfers. It’s sneaky Long from the back tees but not too long for the average golfer to get home on all the holes. I recommend playing this course if you live in nw Ohio or se Michigan.
First time at Sandy Creek
Twas the first outing of the year and vicious winds (which led to some ugly scores). We got confused on a couple of holes as to where the greens were and obviously that didn't turn out too well. But overall it looks like a nice course and I would like to try it again without the gale force winds (even blew a porta potty over).
Amazing course!
I played here with my stepdad and my father-in-law and it was fantastic. Everything was green and the scenery around the course is beautiful and quiet. The greens were well maintained, the fairways were perfect, and even the rough was nice. If I still lived in Michigan I would absolutely play this course as many times as I could in a week. I will definitely be back to play here again!!
Bunched up layout
The course was in decent condition and plays well but I'm not a fan of the bunched together layout of the course. At one time I could probably see 50 or so people with balls flying from all directions
