Leisure World Golf - Coyote Run Course

About
Leisure World Country Club possesses a championship course and also an executive course. Both courses are suitable for all skill levels but they are probably best for beginning to intermediate players. The Coyote Run (previously known as Championship Course) is more demanding than the Executive but almost any golfer would be able to tackle both. The course features unusually large greens as well as water hazards and strategically placed bunkers that come into play on a few holes. Leisure World Country Club, in addition to the two golf courses and a fully stocked pro shop, also boasts practice facilities including a driving range, chipping area, and putting green.

Like a private Dobson Ranch
No major complaints, as the course conditions were good and the price was good. While the bermuda rough can be challenging, the course layout wasn't all that exciting with a lot of short par 4's.
The rough is very tough
This was my first time playing Coyote Run and I was very pleasantly surprised. The layout is great but you really have to keep the ball in the fairway. The rough just gobbled up balls and it was hard to find them because they “sank” down below the surface and were tough to see even when you were right on top of them. Finding them was just the beginning of the problem because then you had to figure out how to hit them. I felt like I was on a true championship course where good shots were rewarded and poor shots made it hard to recover. I look forward to playing it again when it’s open to the public.
Didn't Feel Like AZ
Used monthly rewards and points through GolfPass so price wasn't normal but VERY LOW. First time playing course. Wow! I felt like i was playing in Arkansas or Michigan in the summer time. For a Sat., what was a pleasant surprise was the amount of experienced golfers so even though it was a shot gun start, we were bever waiting for the group in front of us.
Tough ruff
Greens and fairways were in great shape. Anything off the fairway was a problem. The rough was too high and constituted many lost balls
Rare opportunity to play this course
The fairways are very good by Az summer standards. The greens are very good a little slow , Greens are very large
Bunkers have good sand .
The one drawback is the rough along edge of fairways is very deep , Spend lot of time looking for balls in rough if ball does not land in fairway
Usually private course not generally open to the public
The course is challenging with water and bunkers protecting the greens on some holes
SEAFURY
I had never played this course before but a friend who lives there said it was a good course so me and my friends tried it. It was a shotgun start which is fine at 7:00 a.m.. the greens are in excellent condition for summer but the course needs some tender loving care being that it's summer. The bottom line is for $47 in the summer the practice ball should be included which we're not. Fairways were spotty and the rough had been mowed but not raked. The golf carts were very basic had not been cleaned and did not have coolers on them. So at best it was a $25 course. So no I would not recommend this course especially for what the green fees are.
First time I’d seen it open to the public
Greens were in great shape and they are large. My lag putting skills were totally exposed. The 7:00 shotgun start only filled about half the tees. Numerous fairways were thinly grassed but it’s that time of year. Bunkers were compacted sand. It is not an easy course.
Laid back and fun.
Nice track to play. Grass is green, has practice range and the greens were well maintenanced. No one is in a rush so there can be backups. Staff is friendly and accommodating.
Time for a Mow
Course was in pretty good shape but every inch of grass was way too long. Any ball just off the fairway was impossible to find in the rough. Greens were shaggy and very slow so it was tough to figure out the speed. Tee boxes and fairways were also very long which was strange. I like the layout but someone needs to bring out the mower because they definitely let the place go in preparation for overseed. I look forward to coming back because it was a fun course just the conditions left a lot to be desired.
Impressive summer course
The course had a few bare patches on each fairway, with some dirt spots here and there, but overall the grass was green, and even a little damp rather than dry like some courses. I enjoyed the layout, and would definitely play here again, even in the middle of the summer. I was impressed.
WOW!!!
I grew up in this area and this course has always been closed to the public.
I saw the offer on the app and couldn’t resist.
Not an easy course!
Accurate Play is the key.
I’m going to play this as much as I can.
Loved It!!!
