Glen Dornoch Waterway Golf Links

About
This beautiful facility is located on 270 pristine acres at the North end of the Grand Strand. Blessed with a unique topography and large mature trees, the course meanders down to the inter-coastal waterway with scenic vistas to distract you at every turn.
This 6900 yard Clyde Johnston design is owned and managed by the same group that developed the fabled Heather Glen links and the service you have grown to expect from this organization is evident the moment you drive up to the clubhouse. Give this course a try the next time you vist the Myrtle Beach area. You won't be disappointed!

A Grand Slam!
What a beautiful course. So challenging yet so charming. I'd say it was a home run, but grand slam gives you a better idea of the impact it had on us. Highly recommend playing this course. The members might not like me spreading the word, but a Must Play!
Scenic
We really enjoyed our round
There are a number of beautiful, scenic holes. The course is is great shape and the greens are nice. Our only critique is there are several holes that are “cut up”
Started our round on back nine which is more challenging than the front. Pace of play was great. Pleasant layout with beautiful waterway views.
Challenging and worth it
Selected Glen Dornoch on Golf Pass without knowing anything about it and was quite impressed. Friendly staff when I showed up, hit a few balls at the so-so driving range. Nothing special so I was kind of wondering about the course but it turned out fine. I was matched up with two great guys and we played the back 9 first, due to some sort of tournament. I was warned the back 9 had some seriously tough holes and that certainly proved true. All in all a very good experience and a terrific layout (did I say there are tough holes?)
Conservative Approach
As a reasonably long senior player, I would play from the whites next time to avoid having to use 5 iron to 5 wood layups from many of the gold tees. I would probably score as well or better and receive the GHIN benefit of a higher slope rating. As a first time player here, I will definitely pay more attention to the guidance in the course guide that comes with the scorecard the next time I play here, but use the cart screen over the guide maps for each hole.
Great course but very slow
Love this course it is one of the most beautiful in the whole myrtle beach area but usually takes 5 hours here.
Glen Dornoch
Great layout. Not just about banging the ball you have to think. Some areas should have been marled GUR.
Glen Dornoch
Great layout, makes you think. Fairways generally good but spots where you were hitting of dirt, should have been GUR. Greens had been micro punched and over sanded also needed to be rolled.
Cart issues
The cart had the GPS in it didn’t work correctly. I was on cart path and it said I was not it happened 4 times was stuck for 10 minutes. I called clubhouse 4 times no answer finally on 5th try someone said they were bringing me a new cart. The gentleman had a bad attitude when he brought it out no apology nothing. I don’t think my wife and I will play there again if that’s the customer service you get. Not for $70 a round.
It’s a shame nice course but a lot of mosquitoes also. Don’t know if they spray off did not help.
Would play again- front desk attendant not very friendly but rest of staff very friendly
Bring your A game.
Glen Dornoch was in great condition when we played it recently.
It is quite a difficult course, particularly the back 9 and closing 3 holes.
Our group of 4 all struggled to get a read on the greens.
The staff were all friendly and professional.
I would absolutely play this course again and hopefully get a handle on the green s next time.
Beautiful Course
Glen Dornoch is a beautiful course. It’s well maintained and it has a friendly welcoming staff. It’s challenging course because you have to place your shots in the right locations in order to even think about scoring. I have played here the last couple of times I visited Myrtle Beach and plan to make it a must play each time I visit!
