Great Layout BUT Greens Need Work
The layout of Harbor Lakes is great but there was a lot of poa annua on almost all of the greens making it extremely difficult to putt. The greens were very bumpy! If you take away the poa annua I would rate this course as 4 stars. One other comment on the conditions the sand in all of the bunkers was rock hard! It was like hitting off concrete.
Too good for Poa Annua!
Harbor Lakes in s such a great track! I just don’t know how such a good semi-private facility with such great amenities could let their course be overtaken by Poa Annua on the greens. Putting is reduced to a game of plinko where you never know if you make a good or bad putt! We will not be back till we know they have the Poa Annua cleared up.
Harbor Lakes 500
Been on my rotation of courses for a few years, but sadly that ended today. Way too crowded for a Monday, and the course member geezers decided to play 18 holes at a 2 hour pace, pushing up on everyone else.
For February, I’ll let the course conditions fly, although it was the driest I have ever seen this course, which is usually a mudpit in spring and summer.
Lastly, forcing people to pair up in carts, when there were 40-50 parked outside shack was totally ridiculous. You had 4-5 carts driving all around course for the member geezer posses. So I guess course degradation can’t be used as an excuse.
This course should just remove itself from Golf Now, because if you are a non member, the experience just isn’t worth the Granbury 377 gridlock, and the snobby attitudes. That’s about it.
Left range finder on cart
Left my new Bushnell Tour V6 shift range finder on the cart apparently the cart guy needed it more than me ,when I called back the next day to see if they found it they claim they didn’t have it
Best value in Texas
Honestly, I’ve played a lot of golf courses and this has to be the best value at the moment. Greens are absolutely fantastic!
Great Golf Track
This course has many different challenges and is in great shape. Greens were definitely faster than my home course, but rolled true...I am a 14.7 handicap and shot an 87 at 15.7 index
